20V MAX 6-1/2-Inch Circular Saw Kit, with 5.0-Ah Battery and Charger (DCS391P1)

Awesome 👌🏽 👏🏼 I got this from here since it was about 25% less than what my local shops were charging for the exact same thing. I had Project that needed to be done like yesterday. I usually use hand saws for everything like this. I prefer accuracy over quantity. I was strapped for time though. This performed beyond my expectations.

DEWALT DCS391P1 20V Circular Saw Kit In service 2/14/2017 First off, i will be hard-pressed to go back to a corded circular saw. the freedom, convenience, and ease of a cordless is amazing - the amount of time saved is great. This is a 6 1/2", so obviously, there are limitations vis-a-vis a 7 1/4", i.e. depth of cut, especially on bevel. For basic framing and trim however, i find the size and mobility is more than worth it. First job was a theatre set build. lots of framing w 2x stock, 3/4" ply, 1/2"ply, chose to use 40T to ensure no tear out. also had 2 spare 5.0ah batteries on hand. powerful, quick cutting, able to cut stair runners quickly and cleanly. two days, used 2 batteries, although not cutting continuously. shoe provides solid support and control. great tracking without guide/straight edge, although i initially had some user-error drift and binding. seriously appreciate electric braking - never had a saw with that before. it speeds up work in a high pace high stress environment. the right handed motor allows right handed operation with clear view of cutting line - another new experience that tremendously sped up my work. light weight! as a woman, i really appreciate that! Noise level seemed comparable to some corded 7 1/4 saws. would have been nice to have designed in some kind of lighting, i.e, LED or laser sighting, but then again, we've managed for centuries without . . .. case is large, has formed compartments for three Max XR 4.0-5.0ah batteries (i don't know if the 6.0's are larger), the saw and charger, about 4 thin kerf blades on spindle w spring retaining clip, a rip guide (NOT INCLUDED), and instruction booklet ( or some other small stuff you want to toss in. there's enough space to squooze in a couple of other small tools - i keep my try square, gloved, glasses stuffed around in spaces. includes DCS391 circular saw, DCB205 5.0ah battery, DCB115 charger, 16T Fast Woodcutting blade, blade change wrench, blade storage retaining spring clip instruction manual, hard case. note. i ended up ordering rip guide, spring, and screw knob elsewhere. i'll get the parts info and update. i am SO pleased with this saw - one of the best purchases i've made. Works well for for it's size, good power and battery life

Range of emotions. Received the box, and the outside said "Tool Only", which means no battery or charger included, yet when I inspected the box contents (in preparation of returning it), it did include a charger and battery. So all is good.

Love this saw, its great, love the fact that its cordless, powerful, light, has a case and also with battery and charger, its a little pricey though, I didn't like that it has a cheap plastic blade protector, and one thing you will not be able to do with this is cut studs or dimensional lumber in general, because this saw is a right base saw instead of a left base saw like traditional circular saws, this means that you won't have anywhere to rest your saw when you're cutting studs, because the saw rests on the piece you are cutting and that piece falls of. This is the reason why traditionally circular saws were made in the opposite orientation, with this saw you will be able to cut studs, but its not gonna feel right and there is no way around this. You can however cut plywood very nicely, because when you cut plywood you stand on a different side making the saw compatible with the work piece. So I don't know why they started making saws in this orientation, some people say its because Dewalts owner is now gay, some say its the line of sight, but the line of sight does not apply to studs and dimensional lumber, its only good when you're cutting sheet goods, you need a left base saw when cutting dimensional lumber, and you will have perfect line of sight also, and all this if you are right handed lol ok this might be getting confusing already, but bottom line is dewalt needs to make this same saw in both orientations left base and right base, so it will be good for cutting dimensional lumber and sheet goods or a saw that changes its orientations from left to right and right to left on one saw. Get back to the drawing board Dewalt!

I had an almost 20 year old Dewalt 18v nicad circular saw and hesitated to buy this upgrade. I'm glad I took the chance. After looking at other brands, I went back to this Dewalt for its ergonomics and feel. The difference between this and my old 18 volt is unbelievable! Just a great trim saw. And I wanted a hard case and this one is nice. I ripped a 12' 2x12 recently and couldn't believe how easy it cut. Cut as well as the old corded 6-1/2" Skill worm drive that was my dad's. Of course a corded saw would keep going and a good blade always is important, but it was impressive! The only negative is no saw guide comes with it and that the part(s) must be purchased separately, but considering this saws performance... highly recommended.

Love the automatic break on the blade. Once you take your finger off the trigger, the blade stops rotating instantly. I went from using a corded circular saw to this cordless. Makes work much easier. It's amazing how much faster you get cuts done. Also, this comes with the 5mAh battery. It lasts forever. Full day of use. Just make sure you put it on the charger for overnight charging, due to the size of the battery it takes a little longer to charge. If you are hesitating on making this purchase, don't. You will be very satisfied.

I finally was able to use this saw to cut some wood and all I have to say is that I am impressed with how fast it cut with just the included framing blade. The saw has a good weight and is easy to use. I also like the trigger safety lock design. My ONLY gripe is that the saw blade safety guard is made of plastic instead of magnesium / metal like the old school traditional heavy duty saws that seemed to last forever.

Typical dewalt tool , works as it should , lots of power and good run time off a 5ah battery

The blade is very good. Had a big project to do as I was building a shed and deck. It saved me time as I didn't need cables that get in the way all the time. I did use it alot so I had to use 2 batteries but by the time 1 was out the other was already charged. Do recommend

The saw work great. I have an issue with the way it is advertised. It shows with a hard case. It came with a soft shell carrying case and the product barely fits in. The zipper pull broke off after about 8 times cloing the bag. I would like them to send me what I believed I was paying for, the hard case. If not for the bag issue I would rate a 5 star.

I got this kit on offer and it has been really solid so far. The 5Ah battery works great for the saw and is ideal for my other bulky DeWalt tools too. The charger is a modern one that charges quickly, and the saw comes with a blade. I'd strongly suggest buying your own blade though since this one has a bad habit of kicking back at the end of a cut, but for cheap light duty projects, just burn through this blade fast and treat yourself to a Diablo blade instead. Also comes with a bag that more than handily fits the saw and accessories in. Another bag for the pile!
