Great sewing quality, durable fabric and perfect for my chickens!!
These chicken saddles worked perfectly for my medium sized adult Rhode Island white & Barred Rocks. They also fit fine for on my larger Mottled Java’s. They look like they are wearing adorable little aprons on their backs! They have been wearing them for about 4 straight days and haven’t fallen off. At first they ran around feeling strange for a minute but quickly forgot all about them. The other chickens or rooster didn’t react to the change either. A couple of chickens were a little curious about the red checkered specs on the pattern but soon moved on to something else. The saddles have a double lining that helps to further protect their featherless backs when the rooster tries to come around again. I will definitely buy again if my other babies need them!

Durable and cute!
My poor hen was bitten by my dog and after she was healthy to return to the flock I wanted to protect her back. It took two people to put it on her as one hand was not enough while holding the chicken with the other! The elastic slides easily to allow room to do each wing. It protected her from the others pecking, excess dirt in the area during dust/sun bathing and from my little rooster. She wore it around the clock for a week or so (I checked her daily) without any additional wounds under her "armpits" from the elastic. I have since taken it off and aside from some dirt, it is in as good of shape as the day I put it on her. And it is obvious the chicken pattern is just adorable!

Nicer Than Expected
Loved the price of these. I wasn’t sure if they would work and didn’t want to invest a lot. I was also looking for a two pack, so this was perfect. The fabric is good quality and thicker than I was expecting for this price. The saddle has two elastic bands that slide over the wings and that is it. I worried this wouldn’t be enough to keep it on, especially once the rooster tries mating, but the saddles have stayed in place just fine. Both of my girls hated it at first and ran around the run screaming, but i left them on to see how they reacted after 24 hours, and they were perfectly fine and have been for almost a week now. The saddle is cute and it covers the bare spots on my hens. Exactly what I needed it to do.

Cute!
They are very good quality, don't get dirty easily, and look super cute. My hen (the roo's favorite) has been wearing hers for almost two months now. She's a Gold Laced Wyandotte, so a standard to large sized breed, and this saddle pretty much covers her entire back plus some. The only downside to it is that it was just a little difficult to put on and it tends to shift from side to side looking all honky-jawed (excuse my Southern euphemism). So I do not recommend buying these for any breed hen smaller than a Wyandotte. Definitely not for a bantam. Think bigger is better. And I should warn you that the little bow and fringe allow for easier grabbing by the roo (mine used it to full advantage), but at least the hen's backside isn't getting plucked and scraped.

Exactly what I was looking for
Our Australorp is so sweet and gentle that she gets picked on by the Rhode Island reds. This saddle was exactly what she needed to give her beautiful black feathers time to grow back. It was super easy to get on since she's a gentle hen. It was much more challenging with a less friendly hen. Lady has been wearing her saddle for well over a year, and I figure if it's not broke don't fix it so I just leave it on. I definitely recommend these.

Doesn't work for my chicken
I have a slightly injured chicken that I was hoping to return to the flock early by using this chicken saddle. It did cover the bald area where she's healing, and the design is cute. However, the other chickens were very interested in pecking the red areas on this and pulling on the bow and ruffles. And the injured chicken would not stop itching at the bands around her wings. She eventually went a little crazy, flying around like a maniac and screeching. By the time I caught her to take it off, she had a new injury on her beak, probably from her frenzied freakout, but also possibly from one of the other chickens. I watched a video on Youtube on how to properly put on the chicken saddle and I made sure it was fully around her wings and all her feathers were smoothed down before I let her go, but she just hated it. It didn't work at all.

Very light weight
Not as high a quality as others I purchased earlier. Design needs more thought as they don't fasten very well to the hen and they slip out soon after being dressed.
