My 5-year-old girl LOVES this series. We read them as fast as they are published. We started on the series when she was 4 and we were just starting to read chapter books on a nightly basis. We have read several different series and this is by far her favorite. This particular book was one of the most interesting ones to date. Dealt with more complex issues and we really enjoyed discussing them as a family. Can't wait for the next installment! Please keep them coming, Tracey West! :-)

Wonderful stories for girls and boys!
These are wonderful stories! They were perfect for our new reader to move beyond just picture books to chapter books with pictures in them. Both of my daughters have enjoyed these. I highly recommend them!

Good series
My son like these series when he was younger and wanted to read each book. It took long time for each next book to be released, so he outgrew the series before reading all of the books. However, I recommend the series. When my son was into it, he constantly talked about different dragons and their abilities.

Spoilers ahead:My 7 yo liked it but found Rori, Eko, and the island blah blah blahs "stupid." Basically she didn't enjoy the Rori conflict and all the fighting, but liked the wedding part very much. That made the book for her and she wished the wedding went on longer and in more details before the attack part. She has only reread parts.

Captures interest of boys and girls!!!
My kids love this series! My son started it several years ago when he was in 3rd grade and my daughter (2nd grade) read the entire series in a week this summer. I love that they can read independently and discuss/share together. It appeals to both girls and boys and for us, a winner of a series!! The tough part....waiting til January 2018 for Book 9!!

High interest and perfect for those who love dragons
My daugher (10) and her friends love this series and dragons have recently been sighted flying around our house. One of our daughters has dyslexia and her tutor introduced this to her during their tutoring sessions. My daughter immediately asked if we could buy the entire series which she proceeded to devour.

He told me the book was the best serious he ever read
My son is 6 years old and he can ready by himself. He loves this serious very much. He finished 4 books (#5-#8) in one night. I rarely saw him read a chapter book so urgent. He kept asking me to wait until finished a book before he was willing to do other things. When he finished #8, he asked me to buy #9 and rest. He told me the book was the best serious he ever read.

Our kids LOVE the Dragon Master's book series
We needed a good "first chapter" series with lots of pictures as for bedtime routine as picture books just became rather expensive. So I searched the internet and came across the recommendation for Scholastic's Dragon Masters book series. They LOVE all the characters/dragons in the books and love guessing what each person can do and what powers the dragons have.Whenever possible we use the Kindle edition and broadcast it to our TV via our Amazon Firebox (via wireless projection) so that everyone can see the text and the pictures. Unfortunately not all the books are available for Amazon Kindle, so some books we had to buy as hard paper and we are running out of space in our bookshelves as we have sooo many books, so we prefer electronic copies. Electronic copies also allow us to share it onto their Amazon Fire tablets for kids.Again, LOVED by all of our kids and we have different ages and grasp of the world. Unfortuantely we have read ALL the books available and now have to wait until March 2021 until the next book comes out.

My son loves these
Great series. Good to fill the gap between picture books and more traditional children’s books like Roald Dahl. My son who is in year 1 has even tried to read some of it himself and although a bit challenging he can read about 90%

Love this book and series!
A few years ago I read this series to my son. My youngest daughter really enjoyed it and the three of us read them. This year my youngest has been reading them to me. And we are a few books behind this one. But recently I had 2 of my nephews up for a week, and the younger one read me this book in 2 sittings over 2 days. He was required to read for half an hour a day, and both times he went over to finish a chapter and the second time to finish the book. The first time I read these books to my children we only got to book 7 so this story was completely new for me.This series really has staying power. I have read some of the stories 4 or 5 times now. And have been reading them for over 4 years. And it is great to know that my brother’s family loves them as much as ours. We have been reading the eBook editions and his family has been reading the physical books. And it was fascinating to watch the kids interact and compare notes about the books that they are both reading. One of the really nice things about this series is that it is a true series. Each story builds upon the next. Now yes that are strong enough to be read on their own, but as a whole we get to watch the growth of the group as they come together as a team and learn to work together and support each other. In this volume Drake and the other Dragon masters are searching for the baby lightening dragon. Eko kidnapped the baby dragon, we find out that Eko was Griffith’s first dragon master and that he had ran away with his Thunder dragon. The pieces we learn in this story help us understand Griffith much better, but also King Roland and his concern and protection of his dragons. To find out if Drake and the Dragon Masters can stop Eko you will read to read this fun and entertaining book. This is another excellent read in a great series. They are excellent book for young readers, but also entertaining enough for older readers. I am impressed with the staying power of this series. After multiple reads over several years I still really enjoy returning to the Dragon Masters.

Granddaughter Loves This Series
My seven year old granddaughter asked for this book for her birthday and was very excited to receive it. She has all the previous ones in the series (#1-#7) and loves them all. She is just finishing grade one and for the most part is able to read them on her own. The next one is due out soon and I think I’ll surprise her with it.
