Best Ramen noodle kit
I love these kits but Thai Chilli & Lime Leaf is the only flavour i like. This is a box of 5 and is a really good price at £9.99. I use boc choi, broccoli, sugar snaps, green beans and crushed garlic and add a Birds eye chicken breast/ or cooked chicken breast if i'm more prepared.Really simple to use, heat the water, add the paste, chuck in the noodles, chuck in the veg, simmer for a few minutes then serve with chicken on the top and sprinkle over the seasoning.

A bit underwhelming...
I think maybe the best thing about this Kabuto Noodles Thai Chilli and Lime Leaf Ramen kit is that it demonstrates how tasty and filling a bowl of ramen soup can be - but it also makes you realise you can make something better yourself without the kit. Meantime, it also gives you an almost vegetarian way (the stock paste contains a dash of Thai Fish Sauce) to make it because you can swap the suggested chicken pieces for Quorn or similar. As well as the chicken you have to supply a selection of vegetables and really the kit just contains the broth paste, two ramen noodle nests and some savoury sprinkles for the top. It’s easy and quick to make, just mix the broth paste into hot water and then simmer the vegetables briefly before adding the noodles. A few minutes later your ramen soup is ready to serve with the Lemongrass sprinkles as a garnish. Despite all the tasty Thai-influenced ingredients the resulting soup is a bit under-seasoned and characterless. I made two batches (the kit makes two good servings) and the second time added some fresh Chilli and a spoonful of Tamari to give some much-needed seasoning which made a big difference.Personally I don’t think I’d buy this again, although I enjoyed the finished soup I can make my own (vegetarian friendly) with Miso and vegetables and get something much tastier. I love Japanese and Thai food but this was a bit disappointing in itself but inspired me to make my own. It’s a good way to try ramen soup if you haven’t before but that’s about it.

Delicious and easily stretches to 4 with the right additions
We got one pack, rather than the 5, so I've only been able to experiment once, but with high approval from my family. I added in two chicken breasts and a pack of stir fry veggies (quite a bit more veggies than they suggest on the back). Although it says it serves 2, that really depends on how much you add in to it. The flavour is quite strong, so is still delicious even watered down a bit so you can add in more veggies / meat / tofu etc.The instructions are fairly clear, albeit there are two sets, one for just using what is in the pack and one fo adding in other things. I really like that it is so versatile, and you can adjust it to preference. In my case, I wanted more in there, both for adding calories and nutrition. I guess if you were on a diet and wanted something really flavoursome and low calorie then not adding anything would absolutely hit the spot (not terribly nutritious though just by itself, definitely recommend adding some sort of protein and plenty of veggies!).Highly recommended, delicious and easy to use.

Great tasting, simple to use
I got one pack of these to try out and I was eager to delve straight into it when it arrived. You take the stock paste and add it to some water that has been simmering. You then add the provided noodle nests and whatever chopped veg you want to throw in and let it simmer for a few minutes. You then switch it to a bowl, add the chicken (which is what is recommended but I dare say you could add anything you want to) that you've cooked and add the final topping in the pack. It's so simple and easy to do and the results are amazing. It's got a fresh and zingy taste that really did the trick.Would definitely get more of these and am now anxious to try out the other flavours available!

Not bad if you don't mind doing most of the shopping and preparing yourself
"Just add vegetables and chicken" - is this a joke? Better to tell you what they do provide rather than what they don't. Each pack contains a small packet of noodles and two little containers of spices. If you buy chicken and vegetables, cook them all properly and follow the instructions, you get a decent dish so for those of you who don't mind the price, and love chopping vegetables and doing all the other things necessary, and are just looking for that, magic extra that turns all their effort into a tasty dish, you probably won't be disappointed.By the way I saw it in Waitrose today for £1.30 per pack, which is about a third of the current listed price.

Okay, but expensive
In general, I think this is okay, but £3 per pack for a noodle kit where you provide most of the ingredients yourself seems steep. I’ve had similar products of similar quality at the £1-£1.50 mark.Still, if you particularly like the flavour of this spice paste, £3 (plus the cost of your other ingredients) is.... yeah, about the same cost as getting takeaway.Otherwise, it’s fine. The noodles are exactly what you’d expect from ramen noodles, and the spice paste is tasty. I have to admit, I’d missed the chicken in the spice paste - so, if you are veggie (or an ethical omnivore) this product probably isn’t for you.
