Sweet aroma
Bought his hay for our fussy miniature Netherland Dwarf bunny. The hay came well packaged and smelt the usual sweet aroma that you get with Alfalfa hay. The greener hay inside our bunny loves. Unfortunately there are a lot of twig pieces and brown straw type pieces. Which in this bag made up at least half. And are inedible. It could have been a bad batch. Or some fresher hay mixed in with some old. So I’m mixed on would I buy again. As yes he loves the fresh hay inside and it’s great to see him eating hay - it’s not his go to food choice! But will work out costly to buy if wasting half each time.

Excellent Alfalfa hay, in a supplement-sized bale.
We have tried a few bags of this Alfalfa hay now and our rabbits love it. They even eat up the small strands ("dust") in the bottom of the bag; or lick-up is perhaps more accurate (see the last photo where I emptied out the bag to see what they thought of it).Alfalfa grass is quite different to general meadow or Timothy hay, much more fibrous and nutrient rich. I've done a photo showing meadow hay (from the same company) next to this hay. Alfalfa is almost straw like and is supposed to be good for their teeth. The strands varying in length from 4 to about 9 inches, and the packs have all been green and fresh smelling. Our rabbits will scrabble for it as they do for treats and always pick it out first when mixed in with other hay.(Apparently you can over feed Alfalfa and cause digestive problems, because of the high nutrient content it is fed as a supplement grass. Also, some pellet feeds are based on Alfalfa, so it's probably best to check before giving them it.)Excellent Alfalfa hay, in a supplement-sized bale.
