Very useful tool
I have been using a grappler for 9 years. It is tough, heavy duty, and a very valuable tool for yard work clean up. I am pretty rough with it as I have learned to pickup pine cones and sticks and sling them into a pile so it is constantly snapping open with each throw. The spring eventually broke off and the handle cracked. I ordered a new grappler along with a replacement spring and handle. It was easy to fix the old one so now I have two and I am happy with that as one stays in my truck and one in my yard shed.

Decent litter grabber
I've used this grabber for a few neighborhood cleanup sessions. I think it's a decent device with no big downsides, other than the price. The manufacturer also sells replacement parts, so it seems like it could last a lifetime.

Best Pickup Tool I Have Found
I have 4 of these . They are strong for heavy weight items . Yet can use to pick up nails etc. on the ground .Had knee replaced and these took care of all my reaching to ground problems.Knees better and still use them in house , shop, and carry in vehicles .Got to grab something that rolls under car or where cant reach . This picks it up easyI lifted heavy like 5-6 pound items with no problem .These are as close to the pickup grabbers the forest service uses that you can buy as a civilian !I wasted lot of money on other pickup tools that eventually broke or couldnt pick up what I needed .My first one of the 4 been used in the shop for 3 years now and still works perfect and is used constantly !It is perfect length tooI will use a pail with it to pickup screws and nails and debri in the drive and yard and you can put what picked up right in the pail . Get to long one and cant do it !When I need a heavy duty pick up tool that will last I get a Grappler !It will pay for itself over and over !

Best grabber on the market...and I've tried them all.
Now stock multiple ARC's. 33" for most places and 40" on the ATV. Toughest application--handling firewood, none of the others can handle. I found the cheapies to actually be the worst value, constantly failing the routine task and not durable.

I can pick up a dime with it & it's wide enough to pick up a quart canning jar. Well made, heavy duty. Made in the USA
Made in the USAWe've been using the Grappler for 3 1/2 years now. I've picked up a dime with it, slivers of paper & items high in my cupboard. It's built strong & the wide grippers mean I can pick up larger items too. The grippers are far enough apart that I can pick up a quart canning jar with it. We also use the Ettore 49036 Grip'n Grab Reach Tool, 34-Inch which is lighter with 'daintier' grippers that are closer together. (The Ettore can't pick up a quart canning jar.)Sometimes the wide grippers on the Grappler are too wide which makes getting items off a high shelf difficult. The grippers get in the way of other items on the shelf. (I hope that makes sense)Even though the Grappler can handle wide, heavier items, I need to be sure I can maintain my grasp long enough to set the item down.I didn't buy a grabber because I had to, I bought one because I was tired of: almost falling on my head to retrieve items that fell behind the couch; using a step ladder to reach items on high shelves; and reaching behind furniture to pick up something that fell between the dresser & the wall. When my hubby uses the Grappler outdoors to pick up sticks, etc. I clean it before using it in the house again. The Grappler is a handy tool.

STURDY ... I would buy it again...
I have a half dozen or so different grab tools... this one seems to be sturdier with a better grip than most of the other types Ive tried. It has a bigger opening than most so you can retrieve larger objects. My only real complaint is the pull handle/lever is curved and slanted away from the fingers making it difficult for me to put more than two fingers on it solidly... thus giving me less gripping strength from my hand.... i believe if the pull handle/lever was straight you could wrap more fingers around it and get a much stronger pull and grip on items. I can only guess that they curved the handle so you can hang it up. UPDATE: I found a way to VERY carefully (without putting any pressure on the plastic parts what-so-ever) staighten the tip of the pull handle just enough to allow me to get three fingers solidly around it but leaving some curve so it would still hang on a rack and it was much easier to grip and hold items. CAUTION: if you try straightening the curved tip of the pull handle there is a risk of damage to the plastic so you have to be VERY careful to do it in such a way as to NOT put ANY pressure against ANY plastic. The only other thing i might point out that since only one gripper moves it picks up items differently than the grippers with two brackets clamping together evenly... not a big thing but it may take some getting use to.I think it was worth the money, i would buy it again.

Excellent
Not sure why this doesn’t show up easily when searching for pick up tools. I had to search my order history to even find it. I have a 24” from 9 years ago I used daily. Works perfectly still. That one got booted to the camper and I ordered a longer one 2 years ago. It’s the best pickup tool that keeps going and going
