Mind-blowing introduction to the Gita
I love the Bhagavad Gita, especially the translation by Eknath Easwaran. However, if you are completely new to it and want a mind-blowing primer you can digest quickly, I highly recommend "The Gita For Children" Kindle Edition by Roopa Pai. She is a software engineer and I can tell from just reading this, a wonderful human being. She even provides secular explanations where appropriate. One caveat is that this is not a little children's book by any stretch of the imagination. Perhaps you could say it is for youth but more for beginners like me. :)

Must buy
The content of this book provides a great interpretation of the Gita. For young kids, Topics like Gita are tough to explain. The books set the stage just right for them, by asking questions which any kid of their age would think about and then slowly introduces various characters of Mahabharat. It provides a great analogy with modern-day examples that keeps them connected. I was looking for something which is not shloka heavy and this is just the right balance. it provides important shlokas with meaning and reading in English which is helpful for my kids to remember. As the next stage, I can introduce the full shloka book as this has setup the right context of the history behind Gita and happenings in Mahabarat. Thank you Author for giving this amazing literature to our family!

One of my favorite Gitas!
This book is awesome. It's one of my favorite Gitas, right up there with the one at gita4free.com (check it out... It's also awesome). Sivananda's Gita for Busy People is also great.Seriously, this book is not only down to earth and super readable, but it's also very elucidating. You can learn A LOT about the Gita, related scripture, and your self, and your Self!

Including the child within every adult reader out there. Great insights and cross cultural references to drive the universal message of the Gita home.

The best and easiest to read version of the Bhagavata Gita
I have been wanting to read the Gita for years. We studied it in college and I never understood it. Although it was was meant for kids, I think it is understandable and provides tools to apply the philosophy in real life. Thank you Ms Pai.

May be a good book, but not for kids
Only reviewed it a 2 star because it doesn't seem to be written very simply for kids, I'm sure a good book otherwise!

A must read for all ages!!!!
This book was suggested to me by someone who is atleast 20 yrs older than me (I am 20 by the way), had been 3 days and boy I have read almost 3 fourth of the book. It's soo interesting. If someone of you have doubts of this being a religious book, then I may clarify that the book is not about Hindu Religion. It's about the way to lead a happy life without regrets. It has centered its theme around the battles we have in our mind everyday about what's right and what's wrong. This book helps you clear the fog in your mind, so that you can see the truth. Gita in its orignal form is a tough book to understand, by writing "Gita for children", author is just conveying that this is a simplified version after which you can explore the whole new world. This stepping stone is a marvellous piece of hardwork. If you have ever studied subjects like Psychology or Philosophy, you will find this very interesting.Hope this helps you:)

Go for it !! Geeta in it's simplest form !!
My son loves to read but he was not interested in the knowledge about our own (Indian) great books , for example Ramayana and Mahabharat . He loves to read about Greek gods and Harry Potter kinda books and we were happy to see that . But the day, he said ," I don't like Indian Mythology at all so don't force me." Made me think about that and I was wondering , how to make him feel great and proud about our own ancient Epics filled with endless truths . I searched this time hard on Google and thru Amazon reviews , got this book and same day ordered it .Now comes the interesting part , my son(10 years) has almost finished it and said today , " Mumma at places , it makes me cry " . And i without reading it my own , felt so good about my decision to give him this book . It's so grasping , that my son took it school to too to read it in his free period . Thanks to the writer for making it so easy for me . Go for it !!

Needs originality when the title says it's for children
I was expecting any examples thru which we can convey the message to children of 5-10 years.. bhagwad Gita content is not elaborated with any such examples where children could understand.. Content is moreover copy paste from Google.. not all shlokas are referred. Only few shlokas are there..This book contains many other things like 10 avtaars of Vishnu12 names of Krishna12 names of ArjunaAshtanga yogaseven ages of man12 months of Hindu calenders6 seasonsSattvik diet list..I believe its suitable fr age 20 and above.. title should have been renamed to 'Gita for teems'Overall it's good fr a beginner to introduce them to Gita. Quality of print and pages is not that bad. .. nothing new has been added. I found sudha murthys books more appealing..

A great read for anyone
I’ve loved this book from the word “go”. A simple, easy to read book for both adults and children. I read this book to my girls at bed time, and they hate it when I say that’s it for the night

Good alternative
I am not a kid but read it because of an essay I have to write for the Bhagavad Gita. I will admit that I really enjoy it's simplicity! Great idea and attempt.
