Perfect for an occasional welder
Worked perfectly for me with an 80 amp wire welder. I find that an auto-darkening helmet is especially important for a novice or occasional user (like me). It was easy to adjust with an external knob for the right dark level to see clearly before and after striking an arc. It comes with spare outer and inner windows and an extra battery. It's light and comfortable to wear but probably not rugged enough for extensive use.

Great value and features.
Really nice high quality at a fair price. Great features like adjustable recovery delay, off/on switch accessible from the outside of the helmet. Fast dimming, clear instructions in plain English, and clear vision in transparent mode. It stays on my head securely with great adjustability. It’s comfortable and light weight. I bought it for my son, but it’s so much better than the one I own, I’m going to replace mine with one of these.

Great helmet for welders at any skill level!
This helmet worked excellent right out of the box. I say that because I am new to welding, and took the helmet out of the box, and didn't even bother to look at any settings, and started welding and it still worked great. As I continued welding, I was thinking that it'd be great to be able to see a bit better. That's when I realized, that the adjustment knob was at the highest setting so I turned it down a bit and was able to see even better. On to the functionality of the helmet. My biggest question before buying it was how do I turn it on? I know it says "auto darkening" but was curious if there was a button or switch to flip, but you don't have to do anything, it really is automatic. It does a fantastic job of dulling out light as you can see in the video. I've already started adding some soft modifications to it like a headlamp to help with seeing where I am welding and adding a cheater lens as well. Overall, the price is excellent, the helmet offers excellent protection, easy to use, and works great. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Weekend warrior and budget friendly
First I want to say that I am relatively unexperienced in the world of welding. I am not sure if there are safety standards with welding helmets the way that motorcycle helmets are tested for specific crash-test traits. This welding helmet has been fantastic. The auto-darkening feature is GAME CHANGING. I personally like to weld on a bench with other PPE on (turtleneck, apron, etc) so I don't rely on this for anything other than eye protection. Part of that is a general tendency towards safety, and part of that is that I would describe this as flimsy. The mechanism to keep it up over your head instead of in front of your face is a bit tricky/doesn't always hold it too well. The adjustment works well, though. The helmet has a lot of scratches on it after a few months of use. I would not trust this to protect me from large debris, but small beads of molten metal spraying off a messy weld won't be a problem.

Perfect helmet for DIY welding
I picked up the YESWELDER Auto Darkening Welding Helmet and it’s been awesome for my needs. As a DIY welder who doesn’t weld every day, I still wanted the convenience of an auto-darkening lens without spending a fortune, and this helmet delivers. It reacts quickly, the visibility is great, and it’s comfortable to wear for longer projects. The viewing area is large enough to see what you’re doing clearly, and the controls are simple to adjust. I’ve used it on a few small fabrication and repair jobs, and it’s worked flawlessly every time. For someone who welds occasionally but still wants pro-level features, this helmet is a great value. Definitely worth it for any weekend welder or home fabricator.

Stopped darkening
It worked fine the first couple times I used it then stopped darkening, which is super dangerous. It's pretty much a one use item.

Yeswelder Auto Darkening Welding Helmet - I purchased this welding helmet as an upgrade to the Princess Auto (PA) one I bought over a decade ago for only a few dollars less than I spent on this one, and the difference is impressive, to say the least. The headgear, while still cheaply made thin plastic, is light years ahead of the PA version, much more comfortable and easier to adjust, plus it seems to be a single piece instead of the two-piece design of the older one--if I try to tighten the PA, the sweatband separates from the rest of the headgear and the entire helmet flops off of my head. The hinges for the mask are tighter with a ratcheting mechanism to adjust it instead of just a plastic screw, so I don't need to use my hand anymore to raise and lower the helmet while I'm working, and while I can't afford one of the Lincoln or Miller helmets the lens is practically a nightvision-and-day difference; I can't imagine an even better improvement over the old style of lens. Where the PA set has two-way switches for delay and sensitivity, the Yeswelder has potentiometers for variable adjustment. They both have variable shades from DIN 9-13, but the numbers on the Yeswelder are molded on the knob whereas the PA uses a sticker which can easily peel off the plastic. The PA is very sensitive to sunlight, and if I'm outside the lens darkens intermittently from reflections or direct sun, whereas the Yeswelder does not activate from either but will still darken while outside during a sunny day when I light my Zippo in front of it, so I feel comfortable that it will operate as intended if I'm welding outdoors. The only advantage of the PA helmet is the size; it's about an inch longer and two inches wider since it's molded like a trapezoid around your face, so the sides angle outwards away from your eyes. While that lets more ambient light in, which can cause glare issues depending on the direction of the light source, the rounder and narrower shape of the Yeswelder with the control box on the left side means that when I flip it down over my face the control box hits the left arm of my glasses and almost knocks them off my face. To get around this, I just tightened the hinges so that it doesn't flip so quickly and make final adjustments by hand before welding. It also comes with a manual (I may look at it someday) and three spare thin polycarbonate lenses: two outer and one inner. The outer one is curved in the housing for a larger field of view, but comes flat in the bag. Overall, it's a great buy and gives me a lot of confidence in the Yeswelder brand. I love it!
