I have bought this device twice, because it's a great product as long as it works. However, on both occasions it failed within 6 months. The sensor that is responsible for detecting whether the device is open so that it automatically can start measuring, is not built to last. A simple solution that is more failproof could be replacing that sensor with a dedicated button to start a measurement. When the sensor does fail on you, it will remain stuck in a boot loop or doesn't start at all.
