Not just for energy
After being diagnosed with Leaky gut and Sibo I had a test done called the Nutravel test.It showed deficiencies in b3 (this), b6, and quite a few others. After taking them in high doses every day for a few weeks I noticed an obvious change to my rampant anxiety and occasional panic attacks which I had developed in previous years. This is was not the critical fix for me but it helped me get further down the road until I tried 5-htp 100mg per day. I still take this occasionally to see how my levels are.. a "flush reaction" is telling in terms of your saturation.Do a little research in to Dr Abramhoffer's research on Schizophrenics and high dose Niacin. It may also be helpful to those attempting to quit smoking.I am not a doctor and this should not be misconstrued as medical advice. Seek a good Doctor or Integrative medicine practitioner if you have any of these issues.

Proven healthy via blood tests in my case
Keeps the cholesterol down better than prescribed medication when combined with other stuff. For me. The doc didn't appreciate that so much, but I don't get along at all well with cholesterol drugs. Since I cannot take Vitamin B complex, for whatever reason, I used Niacin as part of a daily team with a small amount (6 mg ) of potassium gluconate and took my cholesterol down 200 points in 5 months (lowest it's been in 12 years). What can I say? It worked for me. No dizzy, fuzzy head and nausea for me. Won't guarantee it will work for anybody else, but true in my case.Note that I also cut bacon completely out of my diet. I didn't eat a lot of it or even every week, but it was a dietary change. I still eat other pork.

Importance of niacin
Niacin is vital for a person. It actually rids your body of toxins. That is what the flush is doing. So, regular Niacin is what you need to use, not the niacinimide. You don't need much, but it does help your body. Glad to find regular niacin online!

Bad review
Solaray is a brand that I trusted and taken of other supplements going back to the early 2000's, maybe even the 1990's. So I had no reason to not order Solaray again. This was a bad mistake. This is not a flush-free niacin. It was a horrible flush experience when not expected and it was lasted particularly long. I was crawling out of my skin. So then I opened the capsule and poured out half of the powder. This was a total waste. In addition, it has the strangest taste. I've not knowingly ever eaten anything moldy and if I did, I did not know it because nothing I ever ate tasted like mold. But this Solaray 100 mg niacin tasted awful, exactly a moldy taste. I have now stopped using this Solaray niacin and I'm ordering a different brand, never again going to order anything Solaray a brand that I trusted, a brand I used to go to the healthfood store to buy. Awful experience. I would not recommend to buy this niacin, and probably nothing Solaray again.

Definitely causes flushing
After some research, I wanted to start using niacin to improve my HDL and LDL levels. I'd read that the flushing can be rough at first so I decided to start at 100mg and build once I'd become accustomed to the flushing. 100mg the first time had my face feeling like it was sunburnt for 30 minutes lol. So, I think it's safe to say this product is solid in that regard. Flushing is minimal after 4th 100mg dose so I'll be moving up incrementally.Research is pretty solid on niacin improving cholesterol numbers but needs to be taken at levels of a gram a day to get significant results. So, just need to work up to that level.
