Best trekking socks I've ever had
These are easily the best socks I've ever had. I had never been a fan of thick-ish trekking socks till I had to buy a pair of these for my holiday in the Alps. I then eneded up buying more of the same and, having just done 240+K in 10 consecutive days, I now struggle to go back to "normal" socks - this is how comfortable these ProTreks are. I wore them with both boots and trainers on any sort of terrain you can imagine, including sandy bog pits and ice and they managed to keep my foot cozy on all occasions. Highly recommended.

Comfortable but difficult to dry!
I bought these socks for walking the Walkers' Haute Route - a long distance trek through the Swiss Alps. I wanted something that would keep my feet comfortabe and cool and with two pairs, the plan was to wear one, wash one. Well, they kept my feet cool and comfortable. However, when washing them, very disappointingly, they take AGES to dry! I'm talking a good 48 hours! I don't know if socks that wick away so freely as HJ Hall claim should also dry quickly - if so, I doubt the wicking capablities (my feet got pretty damp from sweat, so perhaps not?)I've a few other pairs of HJ Hall hiking socks (other types) which are fine, so perhaps it's the bamboo? I don' know. I've given them a '3’ (for most people the drying time won;t be an issue), but perhaps 3.5 is closer to the mark.(By the way, check out the HJ Hall web site where you'll probably find socks cheaper than here on Amazon!)

Works as promised although my feet never smell (I know you are jealous) so it wasn't the purpose.They are super comfy and my feet stay at a stable temperature without sweating as usual (yes I other problems) I general I'm happy with it but I have the feeling that they won't last.
