My “Reach for EVERYDAY” Palette! Purchase without hesitation!
I will start this review by saying up front that I am a beginner to watercolor, but not to the art/crafting world. I have learned that “hobbies” can get expensive so making good money choices is important to me.Delivery on this item was timely. The palette capacity and dimension are perfect for someone who is slightly size OCD like myself. The palette is just short of the size of my sketchbook. I band my pencil box, sketchbook and palette together (as pictured) and I am ready for a relaxing plain air experience anytime. It has ample wells for mixing your main wash and secondary wells for mixing shading colors. Additionally, the panel that houses the paint pans is removable so the entire unit becomes one big palette (see picture). There are ample colors to choose from, even “realistic” greens — unlike other beginner sets available. The two golden Taklon brushes are also a step up from others that come free with other palettes. Speaking of brushes, I also purchased their brush pack that included a variety of rounds for just under 28 dollars. While they have shed a bristle or two, (to be expected) I find the construction to be equal to my one Princeton brand brush and their ability to hold water and provide a smooth painting experience to be a wise investment as I reach for them all the time. The colors are creamy and ready to go with a quick spritz of water and in less than 60 seconds. There are at least three yellow, red and blue choices, both cool and warm, for you to discover your own shades of “beautiful” in case the 48 colors are not enough (and yes they do include a white, black and a flesh tone base color.) They DO NOT leave that chalky reside that other beginner palettes leave behind but are limited in their ability to lift unless using 100% cotton paper, lots of water and you are working fast. The added bonus of a few Postcard sized Watercolor papers was great!!! (Sorry I haven’t swatched out the palette yet. Will update post once complete.)I give them 5 stars because as a beginner, my objective is to learn and discover whether an art medium is right for me. I look for the things I purchase to support and motivate me to continue learning and creating. These paints have accomplished that and more as I can’t wait to find time in my day to “play!”But no fair review is void of opportunities for improvement so here goes my opinion. Since the palette holds 48 half pans, maybe the company could consider adding full pans of the primary colors (my brushes would be very thankful to have room to move.) Also, instead of the two brushes (that are more than adequate, not complaining just a thought), consider adding a water brush instead, so as to complete the package for a plein air experience.** NOTES:**1) I did swap out a couple of extra primaries with my own full pans of “bad purchase” tubes to be nice to my brushes and get rid of that junk!2) I did paint the Rose pictured with the Peach color in the palette.3) The Sketchbook is from the Arteza. It is their watercolor book in 5”x8”.4) The elastic band is from the Daiso Store.5) I was not paid or nor did I receive compensation of “any” kind (free stuff) for this rating. I figured I’d add that as I often wondered about that after reading some customer feedback on here. And speaking of feedback, this is the first time I have taken the time to leave feedback on any item and I shop on Amazon at least twice a week so that must mean something. :)These are just my opinions but hopefully they help someone out there.I plan on stopping in on the Dainayw site from time to time, to check on what new products they are offering. Thank you Dainayw!

Not what I expected
I bought this set almost 3 years back and have given it enough try to conclude that it's not very good quality.Pros:- Alot of pretty colors. color looks vibrant in the pan.- Metal tin is good and I like the mixing area built on the lid.- I let my kids pay with this set.Cons:- Colors are chalky. It's chalky to the point that it rubs off on the other page when you close the sketchbook.- Colors when applied on paper feels chalky, grainy to the touch and comes off on the fingers- Doesn't rewet easily- How much ever you rub the brush into the cake, you don't pick much pigment, it's just the filler.- I don't enjoy working with it. Dont gravitate towards it.- I think I paid too much for what it is.I wont recommend it especially beginners please don't use it , it will really disappoint you.If you haven't used other good paints , it i'll make you doubt your own skills.

nice set/great value
all in all a very nice set of WC paints for the money. As you can see from my realy messy examples, the colors are bright, and there is a fun variation of colors included..great pink and orangey pinks..one really strong and different yellow, four variations of purple..and 4 very different greens. There are however a clear absemce of the following colrs..Red, Deep red, bright whyite, and cobalt blue, or a rendition of it..Its a bit hard to get around the missing colors, but since i wasnt buying the set for a anything but fun/trying something new, I didnt mind..I would say that if you are buying this set for a beginner to do so with caution, as it might lead to some fristration or confusion as to where a few significant colors are.. there are aso several color duplicates , especially notable in the blue/green antwerp blue hues.. These paints picked up quickly, after a few minutes, and were nicely manageable in their consistencey and texture,,..but they reacted a bit like a really thinned out guache, although not as opaque. there was little to know blending, and virtually no blooming..so if you are rely on "happy accidents" like me, you arent in for any surprises...This is a fun set for playing with, and some good work can def be acheived with some of the richer colors and a generous variety of colors that bounce off of eachother well..and still play well together. For 25 dollars, it really can't be beat. It's a set I will enjoy using when I am just mucking about in watercolor meanderings, and not worrying about the cost of the paints. I am sure that I will also get some good work out ot it,,as long as I accept the parameters, as with any watercolor brand.

Great for beginners!
I bought a cheap watercolor kit on a whim and ended up loving it. So after a little time, I decided I would much rather use a self-contained pallet that I could mix on. I bought a plastic one and tried to make my own and that went poorly so I decided to just spend the money on this. The container is great and the metal is good for blending. The color range is nice and great for those getting started so you don't have to blend and make all the colors you want. Some of the colors are a little patchy which should be expected. You don't need the highest quality when you are learning and the effects are still great. The only thing I had to do is clean the pallet. Through shipping, production, or whatever, some of the paints had flakes and specs that when wet affected the color. I just took a damp paper towel and wiped them off. No issues after that. All in all, I love this set. It's made life so much easier. The brushes that came with it are cheap but I have my own. There isn't a lot of room for brushes so you may one get to carry a couple with you in the pallet if you want an all-in-one set up.I hope this review helps!

My Everyday Palette
I was very surprised with these watercolours, they are really nice and really great quality. I don't even have to sprits these if I don't want to, I just go in with a wet brush and they are like butter almost instantly. Very impressed and had little expectation and these watercolours blew me away!
