So far so good!
Beautiful book to look at! The whole back book is based off of the basic spongecake recipes (2,4,6 eggs recipes) in the front of the book.. That being said- it would’ve sucked bad if the basic recipes were not good. That was not the case here.. I used the 6-eggs recipe & the cake was delish! First & only cake I’ve made so far is delicious! It’s the Pistacio Cake that’s featured on the front cover! Love that the cake is not too sweet cause we all know we eat a tad too much sugar already!

it showed some amazing and really pretty cakes that i am sure to make soon. if you are a baker this is the book for you. i wanted to try naked cakes forever and when i got this cook book i started to make all of them.

Lovely
Why did I wait so long to buy this? At some point I hope they clarify some things in the recipes. For instance, the cake on the cover could use some recipe detail beyond unshelled pistachios. They really should indicate salted or not. I opted for roasted, unsalted and found them at Trader Joe's. Additionally, self rising flour in the U.K. does not have added salt, but in the states it has salt. For best results I opted to make my own self rising flour without the salt. It's easy and its closer to what she's using. When she writes to prepare your cake pans, I think a little more info is needed. Does she line the bottom and sides or just the bottom? I'd like to see a basic techniques section. Different cakes do better with different pan lining. I'd prefer not to guess. To me, when you're exposing the sides of the cake layers (naked) it's nice to know the best way to get her result.I'm giving 5 stars because there isn't any recipe I don't want to try. I really appreciate she includes U.S. measurement equvilants.

Nice book with good recipes but my idea of a naked cake was pictured on the front cover - the book has many cakes that are just cakes - only naked as do not have any icing. A fun book but disappointed as not what I was expecting. I would title it 'cakes'.

I received my book in Brasil before the date. Its a Amazing book, great recipes and stunning photos. You can just read, or you can make this book like a school, with a lot of history behind the recipes. Loved. Mimi.

Naked cakes
Questo libro è bellissimo!! Costa poco, ci sono tantissime torte, una più bella dell'altra! Ogni ricetta ha una sua foto, immagini fantastiche da sapore leggermente vintage. Ci sono torte di ogni genere, forma e gusto! Davvero bello! Arrivato in due giorni imballo perfetto. Sono molto soddisfatta! Le ricette non sono difficili e offre tantissime idee per le decorazioni. Lo stra consiglio.

A beautiful and inspiring book
I've just received this book and have not tried any of the recipes yet but the cakes look stunning .I recently made a naked cake for a wedding and wish I had this book for inspiration. Just a warning though, through experience.....I've been cake decorating for over 45 years so I have met many callenges with cake requests and have lots of experience, but, this was the hardest! The sheer simplicity of this type of cake makes it very difficult to work with and needs assembly on site....a nightmare in hot weather but it survived and looked and tasted amazing.I made a Carrot cake, Hummingbird cake and a Lavender cake for mine. You will need to support the cakes with wooden or plastic dowel rods but beware, as the cakes are very freshly made they are extremely soft and with the addition of a creamy filling can slide and so the rods can't always offer the best support but are better than nothing. You could assemble it and put acetate around each tier to offer support and remove it before cutting. I hope that's helpful.The contents of this book look inspiring and worth having as a special occasion recipe book, although great for tea time treats too. Would make a lovely gift for someone who enjoys baking. The photos are beautiful and the book is well put together. Hannah uses lots of food colouring to achieve the stunning results but people are veering towards more natural ingredients. Beetroot powder etc can be used to achieve a deep red without altering the taste. Check out natural food colour on Amazon or sites.

and I was very pleased with it
This book arrived quite promptly, and I was very pleased with it. There are a variety of recipes to be made inside using a quick and easy formula for various sized cakes. They all look easy enough, though the odd cake does require a little bit of skill, having said that though, its the perfect way to sharpen your baking skills. I think that you would receive a lot of ohhs and ahhhs with the finished cake.All in all a lovely book with super photographs, well worth a place on your coffee table even if you decide not to bake anything in it.
