Anyone can use this and get great results.
I love this stuff. I’ve been experimenting with different paints and finishes and wanted to try milk paint. It’s dirt simple to use, non toxic and I love the ultra flat finish. I honestly expected a much more “primitive” finish but was really surprised at the coverage, consistency and durability of this paint. Ive been spraying most of my projects with an hvlp but this is completely brushable with no streaks. I wanted something I didn’t have to do so much prep and cleanup afterwards. I really like that i can mix up a 1/2 cup of paint and not really worry about disposing any leftover. In all fairness, I’ve only tried it on a couple of outdoor signs but loved the results. A topcoat of spar urethane really deepened the color and provided more sheen.

Challenging paint to use
So I used this product for a friend who wanted a non-toxic paint on a piece of furniture because of her child. I did not like working with the product. I thought it smelled awful, was difficult to make, had poor converge and scratched off easily after dried. With that being said the friend was actually pleased with the outcome because of the health safety concern. I would only recommend if that is your concern. I feel the chalk paints give you a much better finish and are far easier to use but if a non-toxic is what you want then you can get away with using this product.

I will NOT buy again!
This is one of the worsts paints I have ever used and I will not buy it again. I gave it two stars only because the color was nice and true to what it looked like on the computer. It does not mix well. I have mixed it several times (following the instructions) and then even tried other ways to mix it. It will not mix together fully. It also will develop a film over it when you let it sit after mixing, LIKE THE DIRECTIONS TELL YOU TO DO. This causes so much crap to get into your paint. The first layer was so rough, it felt like sandpaper. I am on the third coat now but have had to sand between each step. It is also so goopy, it is difficult to deal with. I chose it because of the non-toxicity and safety, but that won't mean anything if I have to get a clear finish coat because of how poorly it applies to the wood.

Kind of a pain to use
The paint doesn't seem to stay in suspension for long before settling out. It forms a froth on top that makes it difficult to use too. If you wait for the froth to die down, then the paint solids have settled out. I won't buy this again.

Tested positive for lead
I used this paint; had a concern with toxicity with a bird of mine. Tested it a couple times and showed positive for lead. I tested other non painted areas of the same piece of furniture and they did not test positive. Not saying it’s 100% accurate but concerning nonetheless.

Worst paint I've ever used
Absolutely would not recommend to anyone for anything. Paint does not dry evenly even after multiple coats. Very streaky, color does not match swatches shown on listing, and leaves an awful coarse texture on the painted surface.
