Almost but just short of a perfect solution
As others noted, the holes for plate mounting are off by about a quarter inch. This will be fine for folks in states with slots on their plates but those of us like California, will need to enlarge the holes on the license plate. also surprised the hardware for the clips interferes with the license plate sitting flush with the back plate. It’s a shame they cut corners here, a flathead screw and a counter sink hole would have made this a work of art. Still with spacers and a reamer I was able to get it installed.

Required license plate holder on front of vehicle
My state (Texas) requires a license plate on the front of the vehicle, and NO, not just on the dash! This fits right over the wench on front of my JK Jeep, and holds it steady. If I need the wench, I'll just pop it off, although you can install it where it just lifts up. Would recommend if you need a solution for the plate.

Works good but needs some improvements
I would leave 5 star except for the following issues1) the tool shown in Step-3 of the install step, is NOT the tool you need. You need snap ring pliers to install2) the bolts that hold the clips that face the roller extrude on the plate side. So you either need to get spacers or you will bend your plates.

Awesome front tag holder for Jeeps
This is a great way to mount a front tag for vehicles with a front winch, specifically in my case, a Jeep Wrangler. While it is not a requirement to have a front tag in my state, I wanted to be able to mount a front tag and had previously been unable to with my aftermarket front bumper and winch. This flip-up plate works great! My only suggestion for the manufacturer would be to flip the bolt and nut that holds the roller clamps onto the plate itself. The way it came from the seller, the nut is positioned up, which keeps the tag from laying flat on the mounting plate. I purchased a pack of #10 washers from the local home improvement store and flipped the nut and bolt around, which provided a much closer mounting position for the tag. While the tag does not lay 100% flat against the plate, it is much better than the way the plate ships.

A little hard to install.
Liked the way it looks installed. If taking thru a car wash have them not use the roller brushes on the front of vehicle, it could cause damage to the license and holder.

Good, but plan to modify it a little
The good:-I didn’t have to replace the roller pins on my Smittybilt with bolts like the instructions say I might have to.-Unlike some other states, my state’s license plates holes are slots, so I could easily line up the holes. The not-so-good:-The bracket was shipped without any instructions. I didn’t discover that the instructions are on the Amazon photos until after I got it installed. It took me a while to puzzle out how the sprung attachments are supposed to attach.-I had to reverse the bolts and nuts on the clips and add washers between my license plate and the flip-up plate in order for the license plate to attach without bending (the hardware holding the clip to the flip-up plate aren’t flush with the flip-up plate).-I had to add washers behind the clips to square up the mount. The clips were just a little too short to reach the rollers.I like how this has bracket turned out, and I’m glad I bought it. But if I didn’t have a ton of washers of different sizes and materials, this would have been a pain and a trip to the hardware store to make it look right.

Arrived in a timely manner. Solid and perfect fit.
I love the stainless steel flip-up license plate holder.Being mostly painted (or powder coated?) stainless steel, it won't rust.It appears to have sturdy PEM nuts installed for the license plate bolts and the bolts are allen key bolts. The fairlead mounting holes line up perfectly with the C-clips at the top ends of the left and right fairlead roller shafts and there was sufficient play to clip the C-clips over the fairlead mounting points. There is some adjustment possible if the mounting points are differently spaced. It clips around the left and right rollers with a strong, tight grip so - No Rattle! Yet, it is not hard to pull it up.Its spring loaded hinges keep it up and out of the way of winching operations.Great product and great price!

Nope. Don't go there
Spring clips no good for roller fairlead. Simply to small and nontension. Will not hold.Don't even bother...
