Our naturopath is EXTREMELY picky and generally scoffs at supplements bought on Amazon, but she's given the Vital Nutrients brand of Lithium Orotate (20 mg) the thumbs up for 3 years running. This is for my husband who has Parkinson's and dementia.

I’ve been trying these for my diagnosed bipolar disorder, and overall I think they’ve been doing a great job. I’m trying to wean off of my old prescribed medicine, and I think it’s been more effective than my prescription.I haven’t had as many outbursts, my mood has definitely been more stable and I haven’t had nearly as bad manic episodes as I normally have.I wouldn’t say 20 mg is strong, but I wouldn’t take more than one just for your kidneys sake. If you’re having trouble with mood swings, I would definitely try these! Works as good as my prescription, if not better.

It didn't seem so do anything, then I learned more about the dosing and how this is not 20mg of lithium, it is of lithium oro and they are not comparable. I got the 130mg from horbäach (they helpfully list that 130mg lith oro is from 5mg lithium) and I could feel the affect if the horbäach same evening! I am using it to help with stability, as I need help with mania. I need some stronger stuff than I can get from this 20mg lith oro but not the full bipolar treatment.

This product seems to work well for me but I’m considering another product because Amazon can’t seem to get it delivered to me, has been “lost” twice! Not cheap either and a hassle to get money back! Not sure whose fault this is? Amazons or the producing company but getting old!

My son, age 21, was recommended to try this Lithium Orotate by his Naturopath. He had been diagnosed with Bipolar 2, after being mis-diagnosed by several psychiatrists. He had been given SSRI's and other anti-depressants, which made him worse or had horrible side effects. The Lithium Orotate has had NO side effects, and has completely controlled his bipolar symptoms, allowing him to hold down a job for the first time. He is taking 40 mg daily. This is like a miracle. Plus, the dose is SO much lower than the psychiatric doses of Lithium Carbonate, (1200 mg) which burns out your kidneys in 20 years.

Assuming you can tolerate this supplement, this dosage and formulation is fabulous. Rapid absorption and expected duration. If you have not tired this before, take only one capsule. A friend of mine cannot tolerate this substance and got the jitters.

I know it’s comparatively a small dose of lithium considering what’s in pharmaceutical grade and I watched several YouTube videos with opposing view points to get a good grasp, still I thought, Let’s try it.I’m also autistic with c-ptsd. I took this for a month and it gave me racing thoughts, inability to sleep, severe anxiety, and I thought let’s give it more time.I had some DRs appts & casually mentioned to my physician, they told me to be cautious because I take other SSRIs and this can mess with drug compounds.Then in my own research, There are different neurotypes, so maybe that contributed to my experience. In any case, this was a no for me.
