Good for photos, but not for longer videos
The device seems to work fine subject to a major limitation. See details below. The instructions that came with the device are VERY limited, so here are more complete ones. Please up vote this review if you find it helpful.INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE THE DEVICE (MOSTLY FOR SAMSUNG AND/OR ANDROID DEVICES)Check the battery compartment to make sure the battery is installed properly. It uses the common 2032 battery. Mine was already installed.Turn the device on using the slide switch on the side. The blue LED will flash indicating that it is in pairing mode.Turn the bluetooth on your phone on and scan for bluetooth devices. If a list of paired devices doesn’t appear automatically, long-press on the bluetooth button/icon switch on your phone to access the list. Scroll to the bottom of the list where new devices will appear. A series of numbers separated by colons (a MAC address) will first appear, then the words AB Shutter3 will appear. Pair your phone with that device. You are now connected and the blue LED on the remote device will stop blinking.TIP: If pressing the camera button on your remote device does not trigger the shutter in the Samsung Camera app, but instead zooms in on the picture, then you may need to make some settings adjustment in the Samsung Camera App. Follow the path:Camera App > Settings > “Shooting Methods” > “Press Volume key to:” > “Take picture or record video” (rather than Zoom). Go back to the earlier screens and camera app and you should be good to go.For camera shots, a brief tap on the remote Camera button is all you need to take a picture. To initiate video, you may have to hold the remote button just a little longer the first time. Press the button again to stop the video.Big Problem: you cannot take videos longer than 5 minutes with this device as it goes to sleep then, disconnecting the bluetooth connection, triggering a stop video recording command. See more below.TIP: If you cannot take video longer than 10 minutes with your Samsung phone, then you may have your video resolution set to FHD 60fps or higher (i.e. 4k). This is a phone limitation to prevent overheating due to the processor power needed for that resolution. Reduce your video resolution to FHD 30fps or lower. Then the phone will remove the 10-minute recording limit. If the remote device stops working, it may have gone to sleep and the bluetooth disconnected (which it will do at 5 minutes). Simply turn the on/off slider switch back off then on again and the blue light should flash again until the bluetooth connection is reestablished. If the connection doesn’t happen automatically, to reinitiate the connection, long-press on the bluetooth icon on your phone and a list of prior paired devices will appear. Select the AB Shutter3 device.Update: I shot a video test clip and at 5:00 minutes the video recording suddenly stopped. I suspected the remote device went to sleep (auto shut off), losing the bluetooth connection, initiating the equivalent of a button press, stopping the recording. I ran a second test where I physically turned off the device switch during the recording process and the video stopped a few seconds later. This action is not good if one is recording a longer presentation which is what I was hoping to use this for.The device works as expected for photos and short videos. For longer videos such as for vlogging, presentations, seminars, sermons, programs, other than starting and stopping the video recording just before the 5-minute mark, there is no way to stop the device from going to sleep and disconnecting itself at the 5-minute mark stopping the video recording. Perhaps non-Samsung phones or other camera apps will not see a bluetooth disconnect as a stop recording command. I’ll try it with Filmic Pro and other camera apps.

To good to be true
At first this guy worked well, after about two separate photo events the connection power started to dwindle. I changed the battery and still, it wasn’t like it was when I first used the remote. I can connect it to my iPhone through Bluetooth settings but once you leave the settings app, the remote looses its connection and you have to ‘wake it up’ with a few test clicks. (You end up with more test click photos then you do actual photos to use for whatever you’re trying to accomplish) Also you never really know if the remote is working and taking the photos you want to catch. (I don’t use my shutter volume on my phone) I’ll definitely spend more money on a better quality remote next time and would not recommend this product to anyone unless they needed a cheap, one time use remote.

IT'S HAYWIRED!
I received the gadget, except that instead of controllingthe shutter, it controls the volume on my cell phone. I want it to control the Shutter so that when I have the camera on a stand or whatever, I can activate the shutter without physically having to do it. This is a very important feature for photographers because sometimes you have to move the camera in a position, where you can't access the shutter release. When I pressed the camera button on this gadget, the volume on my phone would be activated to go up, but never down. The only good thing about the product is that it's small, great shape to add to a key ring, and that the battery is included.

Would not connect to my phone
I tried several times to get this to connect to my LG Stylo 4 - Android version 8.1.0 - it would not connect. I thought it was my phone, but no. Everything else pairs up to it just fine. I had someone else try to connect it to their phone and it worked fine. So, this remote clearly does not pair up to just any android device as long as its 4.2.2 or higher. I feel I was misled. I was super pissed because I bought it to go with my tripod for taking photos of snakes that like to strike/bite. Now I have to search for another and wait. I sent this back and got a refund. Was not impressed at all.

Easy to use, 2ft max range.
Super easy to pair to the phone, however the range has been the issue. Remote works great with. 1-2ft. Past that range it loses connection or will stay connected but the click does nothing. Tried numerous tests to see if it was my case, angle, battery, etc. Nothing changed and it would only work when at most 2ft from my phone. Even measured it out, right at 2ft 1in, it stops working. Had hoped for an least 5-10ft range but this does not reach that, let alone the stated 10m/30ft range.

Inconsistent to work with
This thing is a pain to use. It syncs with my phone easily but won't take a pic. If I press the button after it syncs and with the camera app open my phone makes a notification sound and the screen flickers, but no pic was taken. If I repeatedly hit the button it will eventually take a pic or two then go back to the flicker and notification sound. I've tried turning Bluetooth off and back on and unpairing. Nothing I do will make this product just work.

Does not stay connected to phone
Not sure how this has great reviews, Bluetooth remote will not stay connected to phone. Very frustrating, we have to constantly connect it and can get away with only taking a couple photos before having to reconnect again. Even reset the phone and bluetooth and still wouldn’t work

Useful for automation
While the primary marketing for this is as a bluetooth camera shutter, you can actually use it as a bluetooth connected remote switch/button. I used it with Macrodroid and IFTTT on my phone for various automations. The one minor issue with this is that if you forget to turn off the power switch, it will consume the entire battery in 1-2days, itd be nice if there was a sleep or auto-shutoff feature, but again, thats a very minor issue.
