Effective at Teaching Cursive
This workbook shows how to properly write each letter, offers lots of space to practice, then advances to practicing putting the letters together into words, again with lots of space to practice. My kids each learned cursive in one summer with this workbook!

Accuracy or interpertation?
I disliked that of the four books I purchased this book seems to have more lower case letters with accuracy than the other four I purchased. In this day and age children I was shocked to discover in classroom sizes of 26+ students in a classroom only one knew penmanship and well by the 5th grade. Children have no clue about script, my granddaughter thought I was doing some form of art. She asked to learn. I purchased four books. This book for the most part has the most accurate lower case letters for connection especially. In the four other books I purchased I was shocked the lower case best and r's , l's and don't even get me started on the upper case I's. The lower case s are ridiculous. I looked, one books author of script is based in N.C.. The others are from Germany. The one that is shown hails from I believe some part of the NorthEast? So depending on the state or country of origin penmanship varies greatly. I discovered this when my granddaughter tried to jump ahead while making me a homemade b' day card. I love you, well it looked as if she penned two lower case last when putting together , I love you. So imagine like texting the I and l look identical so it goes in penmanship. But using some of the lower case letters the words stranded together might make sense but further reading the words put together my granddaughter herself thought the words were spelled incorrectly as half letters were the way the companies authors were taught penmanship. Interpretation is everything. I always won the penmanship awards through grade school. Those that now have parents who went to parochial school( I went to public school in the Northeast) well parochial school children in this day have the penmanship I know to teach her. Just as I learned in the day of public school. So if you have a way of penmanship keep in mind the region of the states in the US vs. The Countries the books are published through or by. Who knew? Now I go adjusting the letters that are ridiculous looking. There was once an elegance to script, some books make it awkward and unreadable if a child just picks up a book to try on their own. Pen to paper is a list art but certainly a very missed one. The computer isn't everything.

Great for the Price!
This book is very simple and straight forward. It's a good tool to help your child learn the cursive alphabet. It starts off simply by doing a page of a letter and then eventually has you do some practice words. It's helped my 4th grader build her writing skills which we have had to work on a lot. I actually figured out after pulling her out of public schooling that she was never actually taught the proper way to print her letters and I was surprised to see that both myself and her teachers never caught on to the way she writes some of her letters.. As we know the longer you go about doing something the wrong way the harder it can be to unlearn... Teaching her cursive has actually also helped her with correcting some of the way she writes her print letters due to the way the cursive words flow.
