Order your pant size!
I give the shorts themselves 5 stars but the buying experience was a little frustrating. Following Anthem's direction for sizing did not work for me, I'm a 32 in jean size but actually measure a little over 33 on the tape measure. Anthem says to use this measurement and add an inch which I did and ordered a 34. They were way too large (I mean fall down around your ankles large), yes they have a draw string but I don't like them all bunched up at the top. I bought a 33 thinking maybe that'll work, they were exactly the same size as the 34's. So I bought a 32, these fit much better but the metal eyelet inside was all chewed up from the sewing machine so I returned them as well. The replacement 32's came in and now I'm good to go. At least I got free returns and full refunds so I can't complain, I'll just order my pant size next time.

Fit issue solved
So the style and construction seem very good. Had a great workout in them. I like the way the Velcro double closes for secure fit. I did use the internal drawstring but you might not need it depending on how they fit. I could go with or without it. The biggest question everyone had including me was what size to order. If you wrap a tape around your waist I guarantee you it will be way different than your jean size. I read all the reviews and decided to go with my jean size as my starting point. Here is your reference. 5'9" 200lbs athletic build. I wear size 33 Levi's. They fit medium snug. I can also wear a size 34 levis for a looser fit. All the reviews say these shorts run a little small. So I trusted and ordered up to a 34. Perfect fit. Not too loose and not too tight. I would say go with jean size and add one inch for the best odds of a good fit. They are cool looking shorts and great for all kinds of athletic training. Love the camo style. Hope this helps guys.

Medium or large always an issue for me.
Love the shorts right out of the box. I'm 5'9" 185lbs and fluctuate between 32" waist and 34" depending on the cut. I went with the large and it fits perfectly in the waist. Plenty of room in the seat and legs, hockey player for years (some of you will understand the issue). The velcro closure is great and doesn't rub or scrape my abdomen during squats or bent over movements as it's a velcro "fold over" closure. They do cling a little to the legs but not uncomfortably. I'd give a 5 star but haven't had them long enough to determine durability. Amazon prime..flawless as always.

5" 10" - 135 lbs
I'm giving these five stars for the purpose they server me. I took the gamble because I don't want to spend $70 on some shorts. I only roll no-Gi once a week anyways, so they should be able to take the once a week abuse for a while. I usually have size 30 board shorts, and these line up just about the same. I have enough slack where they're not too tight. I'm pretty sure if I went bigger they'd probably be too baggy. I did almost loose the tie string the first wash. Instructions that you get via email say to tie them before washing. I tied nots in the end of each string, problem solved. I might even just loose the string cause I don't see a need for it on myself. All in all, so far so good. I'll report back if I run into any problems.

They are worth a shot.
I only wore these to one training session so far so I'm hesitant to give 5 stars without seeing some long term durability. I really have no complaints. I've worn other major brand shorts to do MMA and No GI Jiujitsu and these seem to be on par with the more expensive ones. They stay in place over my compression leggings better than some. There is no obvious sign of impending failure in the seems like loose or frayed threads. Material appears to be durable. They are stretchy in the crotch and inside of the thigh which is a plus. I never felt the shorts limit my movement. I'm always concerned about fit so I'll try to help out with some input on that. I'm a 5' 9" male, typically 175-180 pounds. I got the 33" waist which was a tiny bit of a gamble for me. My waist is probably actually 32" but I typically have to go 34" to allow room for my butt and thighs (I don't skip leg day). These felt only a tiny bit snug around my hips at first but as soon as I started moving they adjusted into place and I never felt it again. I Liked that I was able to get a waist size closer to my true size so they weren't excessively loose. They do have an internal drawstring if you end up needing it though. I'll be checking out some of their other products as a result of trying these out.

Very disappointed; overpriced
I was really wanting to love these but sadly will be returning. They look great in the photos (I ordered the blue hex pattern). However, in person the print is pretty poor quality. And the material is very thin. They're even thinner than I'm accustomed to swim trunks being. If I had to sum up the quality of these shorts in one word it'd be "cheap." Definitely not what I was expecting for $40. There are much higher quality shorts out there for half the price. They may not have all the cool designs these Anthem shorts have but there are more important things to me than looking cool. I guess I'll keep sticking with the basic looking Elite and Sanabul from here on out.And a quick note on my personal experience with the fit. My waist measures 33" exactly and so I ordered the 33. They were noticeably big and sagged down. There is the drawstring which helps but even with that they were still too big. But I've seen other reviews here saying they were too tight. So I don't know what's going on. Maybe there's just not much consistency across the line. Also worth noting these were significantly longer than my other fight shorts. I like my shorts to sit a couple inches above the knee but these covered half of my knee . Basically they look like board shorts.Only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is this is all just my personal opinion/preference. Maybe some people like their shorts longer and made of super thin material. I just expected more given the price point. But they're definitely not worth the money in my opinion.
