but my 6 year old and 9 year old also enjoy playing games with this set
We homeschool and initially I bought this set for my 4 year old son, but my 6 year old and 9 year old also enjoy playing games with this set. All of the cards are exactly the same. So if you are wanting several different cards for one child this may not be the right set for you. But, if you are wanting to teach multiple children at the same time, this is a great set. Either way my children really enjoy playing with it. And think the animals are adorable.

Pretty good set
Pretty good set, but not what I thought I was getting for the price. The counters are smaller than I thought they would be, smaller than counters usually are in my option. The activity guide really is not a guide. It is just a piece of paper that says you can use them to sort, estimate, add, subtract and for math stories, but doesn't give you stories to tell. You have to come up with you own stories and as a busy mom that is not easy to come up with new math stories every time your child want to play with it. The only reason I bought this set over just counters is for the activity guide which i thought would be a book full of stories and math problems and it is not. I recommend buying basic counters and giving your child plastic bowls or plates to sort and do the math activity on.

It's just OK
My son enjoys it, but it comes with a bunch of cards that have 2 sides with the same scenery on it. They could've had at least more options for the scenery. It gets a bit boring. Also, it would be nice if they would write some more examples of what to tell the child to do with the pieces. You have to keep saying, put this there and this there. Maybe if they made it sound like a creative story of what they're doing, it would be more exciting. I'm not so creative, so if they had something for us to do, that would be more interesting, especially if there were more options for scenery. Maybe they could make it into a long story that involved math. Maybe that would be fun.

Great multi-faceted learning tool
I've used this teaching tool over and over with my kids in teaching them their colors, color sorting, animal sorting, patterning, counting, where the animals belong on the farm, direction following, learning positions ( over, under, side, etc), and as a reward for good behavior. Our kids love to play with this tool. It fascinates them. For the price, it's worth every dime!

not much to it
Not really anything wrong with it, but when you get down to it there is just a handful of small toys in different colors. If you have a small child you probably already have enough "stuff" laying around that you can do without this and just use the items you already have to work on counting and basic math skills.

Math Tools
Helps students with the Part/Part/Whole concept. Also works for learning/reinforcing positional concepts. Mats are reversible and there are enough for small group instruction.

Great early math game
A game your kids will play for years, during early childhood. They love the colors and animals. It also starts them learning addition and subtraction and sorting.

Cute sorting animals
My son loves this set. He enjoys sorting the animals by color as well as species. We make patterns and do simple addition and subtraction.

Learning in a fun way
Excellent play value whilst learning. It was purchased for a bright year old who has really enjoyed it. Good idea.
