Easy to Read, but I'm Skeptical it Works
After traveling for vacation, the G.I issues I've been receiving since moving vanished. I assumed they were caused by coliform in the water when they returned after I came back, and although this test says there is no bacteria found in my water, the gi issues disappear when I drop brushing my teeth and cooking with it.... I suspect the test doesn't work.

Test seems accurate. Good value!
We are selling a family home which is served by a private well. The county requires testing of the water, which came back positive for total coliform (not e-coli). Test was done by a private lab, and my first reaction (before spending a lot of $$ on water treatment) was to verify the test. I purchased this kit, which was easy to use and showed no bacteria at all. I then purchased a 5 vial kit from LaMotte, which also showed no bacteria. Armed with those results, I hired a different professional lab to do another test. That test also came back clean! My family has been drinking this well water for many years. It's clean, cold, tastes great and nobody has ever gotten sick from it. The only parasites are the testing companies, inspectors, agents, and everyone who wants a piece of your hide... I'm glad these products are available!

Results unclear...ish? See photos. 🤷
I followed instructions exactly to collect the water sample. I have experience with collecting sterile samples, so this protocol is not new to me. At exactly the 48-hour mark, the sample seemed to be at a transitional point between purple and yellow, but the label on the bottle made it REALLY difficult to tell for sure. So i transferred the sample into a clear glass jar to read the result. It was still difficult to tell what color it was, as the sample seemed to be more of a purplish brownish yellowish color than the clear purple or yellow shown in the pictures. The sample also ended up being cloudy, even though we have clear water. I found this odd. I took a photo of the result outdoors in natural light and indoors, and in the photos it looks purple. **This is NOT how it looked to the naked eye.** (I'm unsure of why these things happened, but maybe the company will be able to advise once they read my review.) So long story short, we treated our well with bleach as a precaution, and I'm mildly annoyed that the results weren't crystal clear.
