tldr; This gin kit is superb! I bought one as a gift and a another one for myself because the home made Gin is quite a sensation of taste! And it won’t be the last I bought. I initially bought the DO YOUR GIN infusion kit as a gift for a BBQ party. The box comes with a very beautiful package wrap with lithographic illustrations of spice plants printed on. That and also the large dimensions of the box make a very nice gift. When opening the box you face 12 vividly colorful spices that are packaged nicely in glass cylinders and closed with natural cork stoppers and then elegantly sealed with a high quality paper label. On the right side of the kit are 1 funnel and 2 bottles. The bottles come with labels to document the individual recipes, date and signature for the batch. I love the packaging already, everything looks very high quality. The reason I got the kit for myself is, the home made Gin is incredible! I can literally taste every single spice that I used during the process, my senses were completely overwhelmed – not to compare to any Gin that I bought off the shelf. Included in the gin are three recipes (The Spirited, The Traditional, The Colorful) and detailed information of the botanicals, about their origin and their aroma. I was perfectly guided through the process and there was enough room to express my own preferred taste by getting creative and experimenting with variations. The juniper lasts for 2-3 Gins depending, the other botanicals last for 5-10 Gins. Oh, and the kit also includes a post card with 4 cocktail recipes (Bramble, Gin Fizz, French 75, Vesper). Not did I only learn about craft Gin making, I got introduced to two new Gin cocktails. Yay! Will buy again!

My girlfriend bought me the "Do Your Gin" home gin making kit as a surprise and it's a great gift. The packaging looks cool and professional and kit contains good quality components. I already made my first batch following one of their suggested recipes - 'the colorful'. It was pretty easy process and only took a couple minutes to mix up first the alcohol plus juniper berries and then next day the different additives. The result was a tasty unique gin - I especially enjoyed the pop of cardamom flavor. We are looking forward to trying the other recipes as well as our own twists. All and all very happy with this fun gift.

This was a gift to a gin lover who like to taste various gins for their different flavors. She loved the DIY-gin kit. She is very excited to try making gin flavors for various cocktails. Other folks in the room were looking at the mix of herbs and want to try to DIY-mix. I'll sure I'll be buying more as I see the excitement in the face of the gin drinkers.

Pro: very cool box and gift for someone who likes to experiment making gin. Start with a clear vodka and following the recipe. In 3 days you have home made gin. There are a bunch of different flavor vials included that allows you to experiment with your desired taste. Two bottles allow you to try two different recipes. Con: not enough juniper berries included (3 vials only). I would have liked to have a few more. The recipes were easily to follow but the gin was way way strong. The lavender likes to overpower - so when they say hint - they mean hint. It is fun to experiment and we ended up using another empty bottle, only 1/2 vial of juniper berries and a bunch of oranges, mandarin, and peach peels (on top of the dried that was included). Also added a few cloves (easy does it). It tasted great. Was not too overpowerly strong and had a great citrusy taste. Highly recommend it for the holidays.

Wife opened this for her birthday and was really excited, immediately took a picture for instagram which is not her style at all! I think that says a lot for presentation. We’ve done 2 batches using mid quality vodka and have been really happy with the results. Also, one of our corks broke very quickly but the company sent out replacements immediately upon me sending them an email. The price might seem a little high but there are a lot of ingredients in here and for a gift, it’s a really cool, complete set up. I saw another company that was basically a box with three tiny envelopes of herbs for $30, so compared to that this is a real value!

Back towards college days, Snoop Dogg would come on the radio singing about Gin and Juice. Back then the quality of gin was what ever my minimum wage job would scrounge up to pair with orange juice. When I saw the "Do Your Gin" kit on here, I figured it was time to try a favorite of mine again. The kit itself is neatly packaged and would great a gift for a fellow gin lover or someone who enjoy spirits. Comes with two empty bottles, a funnel, and 12 test tubes filled with various botanicals such as juniper berries, coriander, and lavender. Along with directions on mixing the various ingredients for maximum flavor towards your taste. Much like the build your own science lab games, the directions are a guide and not a hard recipe for success. I went the route of "The Colorful" which included juniper, Cardamom, coriander, orange peel, lavender, and hibiscus while adding chili pepper for a hint of spicy. The kit recommends using a clear alcohol (vodka), I used Tito's. After three days of mixing and refrigerating, the gin turned out a little spicier than I wanted but was crispy to the taste with two different type of juice. Mixed with orange juice was okay but the grapefruit juice really made for a decent deck drink. The kit also includes three recipes for drinks. If you enjoy gin and like to bring back the fun days of playing with science, give it try!
