Very fun and educational. My 3 year old loves to break these open and loves rocks so this is a great toy for her.

I'm a homeschooler constantly trying to find ways for my 3 year old to be entertained while adding educational value. This was perfect for her (and would be appealing to either gender). Keeps her entertained forever, she loves playing with the jewels, uses shapes, colors, and hand eye coordination. The "rocks" easily snap together by you or your child and hold the gems, they wedge the screwdriver in the hole and bop it with the hammer. The rock "cracks" open to reveal the gem. Well done! I love this brand. Even my 8 year old boy played along.

We love this toy. I have a 3yo and a 6yo and they both enjoy it a lot. I love that it is both educational and fun. We talk about the colors and shapes when we play with it. It is very durable as well and I think it will last us a good while.

Update 12/26: Christmas has come and gone, and this set has got PLENTY of play! It was a huge hit for my son, who is extremely picky about his toys. He has sat and played with this for hours, usually 30 to 45 minutes at a time. He loves using the tools, and prefers to identify the shapes rather than colors right now, but he still keeps them matched up correctly. I highly recommend this awesome and incredibly fun toy. You and your child both will have a blast playing with this set! I bought this set as a Christmas gift so it has not yet been played with, but I already know my (almost) 4 year old is going to have a blast with it! There are so many ways we'll be able to play with this, while educating him. Since he is not going to preschool, at-home education is very important to us, and fun props are always welcome! Every piece in this set is large and chunky, making it easy for hands of all sizes to manipulate the pieces, however, using the pick to open the geodes helps with fine motor skills. Each gem's color matches the inside of a geode so it's great for color matching. Could work as a memory/matching game, and could work for teaching about actual geodes, too! So much potential for learning, in such a fun way! Everything seems to be made extremely well, the colors are perfect and vibrant, and the little bag for storage is very much appreciated! Of all the Christmas presents we've bought this year, this one has got to be my favorite.

I purchased this for my 3-year-old, and while he does enjoy it, my 5-year-old definitely gets even more out of it. The concept is fun and engaging, but my 3-year-old has some difficulty opening and closing the rocks independently. That said, it’s a wonderful learning tool for practicing colors and shapes. It also encourages gross motor development, which I really appreciate as a parent. Overall, I would recommend this more for ages 4 and up, especially if you’re looking for something both educational and interactive.

Nice toy for my 3 year old. My almost 2 year old also tries but isn’t quite ready. The pieces are a good size. Just the trim diamonds are a tad small and might be a chucking hazard for smaller kids.

My kids are obsessed—this has turned into nonstop playtime since we got it. They love hiding other small items inside and discovering them again, which keeps them engaged for ages. It’s great for color matching and really helps with understanding cause and effect in a fun, hands-on way. Educational without feeling like “learning,” and honestly one of the toys they keep going back to. Highly recommend!

My boys love these. Really good quality, some small gems which I need to keep away from baby sister but otherwise they keep coming back to these. Very much enjoy smashing them and seeing what colour gem is inside or which shape they will get.

Questo set della Learning Resources è veramente ben ideato. In pratica sono 8 “pietre” tonde con all’interno ciascuna una pietra preziosa da aprire con martello e scalpello. Devo dire che è veramente originale e diverso dal solito, tanto che mia figlia ci gioca tantissimo. Io nascondo per la casa le pietre e lei fa finta di essere un archeologa e le va a cercare. Una volta trovate si diverte un sacco ad aprile una per una per scoprire quali pietra preziose sono racchiuse all’interno. Insieme nel set è compresa anche una comoda borsetta di tela in modo da poter riporre all’interno tutti i pezzi del set e non perdere niente. Nel complesso lo trovo ben realizzato ed il prezzo attuale, di circa 28 euro, mi sembra ber rapportato alla qualità stessa del set. Io personalmente lo consiglio, soprattutto per la sua originalità.

My kids love this set so much! They enjoy using the hammer and pick to open the gems. They find it so fun to find the gems or the ‘treasures’ as they call it and matching them back to rocks and closing them up. These are pretty strong as my children really beat on them with the hammer lol! A win for moms.
