Lie to Me: Season 2

This is a great series based on a fun idea. The main character, played by Tim Roth, is a man who has made a study of honesty and the psychological indicators of lying. He has taken the art to such heights he creates an agency that performs this feat on a regular basis for clients of all types. It is a fascinating premise and the writers exploit the idea to maximum effect. The supporting cast is very capable but Roth routinely steals the show with his understated but hip portrayal of a deep, misunderstood, yet sympathetic genius. Amazingly, considering the themes, this is at once a very intelligent show yet suitable for viewing with audiences of all ages. My only complaint is that Roth, with his distinctive british accent, is occasionally difficult to understand, but this might be a function of my diminishing auditory acuity (typical for baby boomers) but I wondered if the digital technicians could have compensated. But this is a very minor complaint and would in no way keep me from buying the series. I am sure younger ears will have no problem with the sound. I rate this series high for great acting, great writing, and an intriguing premise.

One of my favorite shows

This show has demonstrated very lucid and entertaining episodes that I have to keep watching. Despite what people say about the show getting worse, I however disagree. The writers are trying to create something that's very believable and still entertaining. The science is real and it is evident in the fact that the writers actually turn to Dr. Paul Ekman as the show's lie detection expert to craft the show into fantastic program. I DO NOT usually watch any of the popular drama-esque shows (House, Bones, The Mentalist, Lost, etc...), but this one hooked me for some reason. I think that this show is a major underdog (compared to the aforementioned shows) and perhaps that's the reason I enjoy the show. This show could never be overrated due to it's status among primetime tv, but in fact is greatly underrated. I appreciate a show as fresh and unique, yet in some way educational and entertaining, as Lie to Me.

While the Mentalist is good, Tim Roth as Dr. Cal Lightman in LIE TO ME is fantastic. The gritty, bad boy way of approaching everything is truly well captured by Roth, making you wonder if he too is a bit of a bad boy himself. The supporting cast is great but Roth captures the viewers attention without overpowering the scene making you wonder what exactly he will do next. I'm glad to have the series on DVD as one issue I have had is with FOX (who televises the series on TV) often preempts the program or changes its schedule entirely without notice so that one often finds it hard to find to watch. I see Season 3 has just come out on DVD and HOPEFULLY, it won't be the last season. This is a great program, each episode completely new and different, but always with a little hold-over from previous episodes to develop characters within the program. HIGH RECOMMENDED

I loved the first season of Lie to Me. It was unique and used some interesting techniques. Some of season 2 is confusing--first, why is the Lightman Group taking all these free cases, aren't they running a business? It seems that most times this season, they are pursuing a personal interest, or one of their family/staff members. So, all the talk about financial difficulty in the firm could be solved if they concentrated on their business plan. The final 3 episodes are the most compelling. They have drama, suspense, and unexpected plots. The season itself ends with a cliff hanger. I agree with others that Tim Roth's accent is difficult to understand. All in all, a fairly good season--with a few excellent episodes. Better than most things on TV these days.

Just finished season two, wow, really most excellent television. Title arrived on time and undamaged.

Season 2 of Lie to Me is just as good as season 1, which was outstanding. Great acting, interesting characters and plots, relatively plausible scenarios. The entire premise of lie detection is interesting and unique. For families, I rate this show as PG-13. Many of the shows deal with sex and/or violence and the whole show is based on deception, so this is not a show for young children. However, most episodes are good for teens and older and bring up great points of discussion. One word of caution for families: several of season 2's shows are entirely about deviant behavior pertaining to sex and are not appropriate even for young teens. We simply skipped those shows after the first couple of minutes and moved on to the next.

You know how you feel certain. Someone is lying to you but your not sure why. This show gives examples of the smss as ll tells you may not realize you are seeing. The acting is great, the writing is better. I enjoy it!!!!

Ich bin ein absoluter Fan der Serie "Lie to Me". Nachdem ich auf VOX nie ein Folge verpasst hatte, habe ich mir jetzt die 2. Staffel zugelegt. Nach dem Auspacken war die Vorfreude groß, doch der kleine Schock kam nach dem Einschalten mit der Aufforderung die korrekte Sprache am DVD-Player einzustellen. Nahm da jemand (der Hersteller) den Titel "Lie to Me" da etwas zu ernst? Doch nachdem ich das DVD-Fach kurz geöffnet und alles auf Auto-Sprache bzw. Standardsprache Deutsch in den Player-Einstellungen gebracht hatte, lief der Film einwandfrei. Also im Vergleich zu manchen meiner Vorrednern kein Grund die Staffel schlecht zu bewerten oder gleich zurückzuschicken. Für Fans ist diese Staffel ein Muss, da in Season 2 noch mehr Folgen drauf sind wie in Season 1. Dass die 2. Staffel außerdem schlechter als die erste sein soll, finde ich auch nicht, denn Cal Lightman gibt mal wieder sein Bestes in 22 unterhaltsamen, abwechslungsreichen Folgen.

Muy buena serie, cometi el error de no darme cuenta que era DVD y no BD, pero ni modos, de cualquier manera se ve relativamente bien y los capitulos estan entretenidos. la recomiendo.

J'ai été triste que cette série se soit arrêtée et j'adoooore revoir les épisodes ! Les acteurs jouent très très bien ! En plus des affaires résolues, il y a une histoire en arrière plan qui concerne chacun des personnages. On connaît un peu plus de leur passé, c'est cool :) Je recommande cette série à tous ceux qui aiment le suspens et intrigues.

I was a little apprehensive when it came to trying this show out. I saw it on Netflix and fell absolutely in love with the characters especially Dr. Lightman. He is hilarious, extremely arrogant, he reminds me of Dr.House (House) mixed with Agent Gibbs (NCIS). The storyline is great its fast moving and each individual character is put through many trials throughout the show. I have to say That I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoy this series. I wish it was longer than 3 seasons! If you like Law and Order, The Closer even White Collar you will love this series. It gives you a whole new perspective on "crime fight drama" plus you learn so much about facial expressions and body language that you can use to your advantage! The packaging was really bad. I ordered seasons 1& 2 and both cases were cracked and the opening part of the cases were shattered. I attached photographs...wasn't impressed. but I love the show so hopefully the cases stay together -___-
