Trimaco 10991/6 Pro Thumb Paint Mitt, 1 Count (Pack of 1), White

Not going to lie, I was scratching my head when my wife ordered this. BUT it turned out to be super useful. We were able to pre-paint trim before installing in a matter of minutes. Soaked the glove and grabbed the trim and slid.. presto painted trim in less than 5 minutes. Ended up also doing 45 spindles on our stairs in under an hour because it was so easy. Definitely super impressed with how quick and easy this made painting those small, round, or otherwise not flat surfaces.

These paint mitts are now my top choice when it comes to staining deck railings, especially the ballusters/spindles! I've stained using brushes, foam applicators, paint sprayers... this is the fastest method by far. For application time they are about as fast as a paint sprayer (with backbrushing) but without the sprayer cleanup time. Application quality was good as well, coating was uniform and I was able to work in the stain to dry spots when necessary. Drips were also easy to manage. If the wood is rough however you will be in for a nightmare. Splinters will chew up your gloves fast and leave tufts of fluff on your freshly stained surface. If you have smooth surfaces, especially those freshly sanded to 60/80 grit, then I highly recommend these.

The glove was perfect to paint my balcony railing but it’s very LARGE. I sewed a inch seam along the Pinky side edge with a regular sewing machine to make the glove smaller. I also used a rubber band around my wrist to make sure it wouldn’t slip. Worked like a glove! Glove stayed on my hand and it didn’t leak at all. Painting the railing was a breeze. I would definitely buy again but would need to add the extra steps of sewing the glove.

I recommend wearing a rubber glove underneath. Once the mit became saturated in paint it leaked through from every area and made a mess.

They are super easy to use and do a great job. They leave a bit of fuzz in the paint at first, but it's easily removed and after a few minutes the fuzz issue goes away. You do have to wear latex (or similar) gloves under the mitts as the paint bleeds through, but that's not a problem at all.

Glove inside mit was to small to fully grasp and control dripping. Upon dipping in paint, the upper 3 inches of the glove flopped back, full of paint, and couldn’t properly apply paint to spindles. After trying on 3 spindles, got frustrated with the amount of paint that ended up on the drop cloth rather than spindles and just threw it away. Not worth the headache.

This is AMAZING. I sealed my back deck railings with a paint brush which literally took days. My front porch took 2 hours tops with this glove. I used tape to get the fuzz off before using it and did throw it away after I was done with it. I was also using clear a clear deck seal so any missed spots were less noticeable. Regardless, this made my life much less miserable. Definitely recommend.

I purchased this on a whim from a recommendation by my husband. Attempting my first DIY staining adventure, this mit was a Godsend. Definitely made the job easier.
