The Best LED Panel for Video Production
Pixapro have some of the best lighting products around in my opinion.I have two of these VNIX 1500s' and they are my go to lights on all of my shoots. Whether I'm filming an interview or lighting a dinner scene, these lights do not disappoint. They are better, brighter than the Aputure LS1S, more readily available in the UK than the LS1S and are more powerful.I shoot either with the VNIX 1500s softboxes (which are specific to them) or with a large 5 in 1 reflector for some really soft interview lighting.I can't find a single weakness in these lights. Highly recommended and I want to add more of them to my kit!

Good and Bright - specification is genuine
Great light. I use this in my laser clinic for photography/videography and as a work light. Love it, mostly. Only criticism is that the brightness dial is a bit crap. Spin it too fast and it doesn't register, and generally a bit hit and miss. it's a digital knob, just spins rather than having a min and max setting, and could do with improvement

Best bang for your money in LED panel lighting
Bought two of these lights directly from the seller Essential Photo, and plan to buy a third. I'd spent much too long trying to find LED lights that offered the most light output for the money - budgeting under a thousand quid and hoping to get at least two lights - preferably three. These are the only lights I could find that met my criteria. All the other's LED panels sold for around a hundred pounds or less were kicking out 3400lm/m maximum, which seems like a lot of light but really isn't. Pixapro now offer this model or the smaller VNIX1000 model. Both of these daylight balanced lights kick out at least three times the light as the cheaper LED panels, and look to be much better built. You can also find a box that holds three of these panels as well as a softbox - which over time would easily be cheaper and more convenient to use than sheets of diffusion material/paper.So far I'm very impressed with the light output, which isn't much less than the light output of a Rotolight Anova Pro2 that costs 5 times as much! Oddly the manufacturer states the smaller VNIX1000S (daylight) has a light output of 10,500 Lux @1metre and this VNIX1500S has 9,100 Lux @1metre. With a third more LED's, I'm inclined to believe that latter value must be wrong. FYI the Rotolight has 10,700 lux @1m and consumes 72W.These lights use 90w of power (another reason to question the specified light output) which means you now need to use V-lock mount batteries and each could cost more than half the cost of one light! Why these V-Lock batteries are so expensive compared to Sony NP-F batteries, I've no idea. You don't need to use them to use this light so long as you have a mains power source to plug into.Barn doors are included, but the LED's have a 45deg spread, making them more useful for controlling light reflections. Each light comes with a simple remote control. They are set to use channel 1 in the factory, so using that channel, you can dim/increase light levels remotely. To change the channel, press and hold the dial on the back of the light to select a number from 1-99. On the remote - push the menu button until there is no light at the top - then select the channel - 0=all. Note that remote channel 0 does not tell you the light level on the lights themselves (since they could be different), but selecting any other channel will display the level selected. The remote's have a setting for light temperature - which is ignored with the Daylight LED panels. All in all, these lights work wonderfully for doing video documentary interviews and it's always more useful to have the ability to turn down the light to match instead of hoping your light will be bright enough to over power your surroundings. The daylight panel comes with a tungsten 'gel' that's also diffused like the clear diffuser.Even though the design is now over four years old, I presume the LED's have been updated to newer technology. I didn't need any more light stands, so if you do need some then get them with their kits. Highly recommended.

EXCELLENT QUALITY DAYLIGHT BALANCED LED LIGHT
Only just received this and played with it briefly. Purchased after extensive research direct from Pixapro (though price through Amazon pretty much the same). Purchased for video use (I partly work in video/TV production). From my research I would say that this is easily as good as the Aputure LS1s which costs quite a bit more. This has similar build quality by the look of it - if not better, with really good barn doors that fold properly flat. The rated output is higher than the LS1. It is also remote control (comes with remote). It also takes V-lok / V-mount Sony style batteries and comes with power brick for mains use (lead is generous enough to reach the floor from 7 foot stand at least). It has no fan so is silent. The yoke/mount is very solid and when loosened a quarter turn on either side allows the whole lamp to pivot in stages up or down - feels very sturdy. CRI rating is 95 - not quite as high as the Aputure possibly but higher than all the cheap LED lights and I'm pretty certain it will be accurate enough for professional video use. You can also order a softbox separatey from Pixapro for £30 (mine is currently on order so I cannot comment on the quality of this yet). The LEDs are protected provided you leave in place the removable acrylic diffuser sheet. This ('S') model is the daylight only version (5600k) so comes with an additional orange CTO sheet to correct the light for tungsten-lit environments. All parts mentioned fit in the provided bag which is of good quality. Customer service/communication with Pixapro has so far been excellent and the light is posted out from their UK HQ - arrived within a matter of days!I will update this review when I have had chance to use the light in a professional video environment (within the next few weeks).NB I also considered the even more powerful 100d Mkii light that Pixapro create but does have a fan (albeit reviews suggest it is quiet) and the CRI rating is slightly lower - 94 as opposed to 95 for this model. There is a 2000 LED version of this light but I considered the 1500 version to be the sweet spot between price, size and power.I hope this helps people as I have found researching and choosing among the myriad LED light options to be a bit of a nightmare!
