Keeps food hot for 4-6 hours!
My kids love taking hot meals in this to school! We own 2 of them. I’ve had them for 3 years and even run them through the dishwasher. The best brand that I’ve tried so far!

Works great
I packed my chili at around 7am, and ate it in the 11am hour, and the food was still warm. Love that no plastic touches anything. Highly recommend.

As described- SS lid no leaks
Exactly what we needed. Glad the inner lid is stainless steel. Small size is good for small kids - grades k-3 lunches or older kids snacks. Keeps soups hot as long as you do the standard prep (letting boiled water sit in the container a couple mins before putting the hot soup into it so the walls don’t instantly chill the contents)

Excellent for yummy over-night oatmeal, esp. with tea-bag flavoring!
I love the thermos; but I docked a star because it would would be less difficult to open if the lid was more indented or textured, to grip easily.Years ago a doctor suggested that I eat steel-cut oats to help lower my cholesterol. He also recommended that the oats always be soaked overnight.Soaking reduces phytic acids, to improve digestion and nutrient absorption.Soaking also helps to remove lectins; the rough outer coating of oats that can irritate your gut. After trials I ended up with "Bob's Red Mill Quick-Cooking Steel Cut Oats. (found on Amazon) This isn't like "instant oatmeal". Quality and flavor have been consistent.I discovered that a basic 8oz screw-on lid thermos is difficult to find in stores. The 8oz. size is perfect for a serving of oatmeal, esp. if you add toppings. (I keep a 1/4 cup measure in my oatmeal canister.)I top my hot oatmeal with banana or apples chunks, walnuts etc., and drizzle with local honey.FAST PREP: I fill the thermos with water just below the wide inside rim of the neck, and boil the water in a tea pot, or microwave.I then put a level 1/4 cup scoop of the quick-cooking steel cut oats into the thermos, and add the boiling water until just below the wide neck rim. Don't over-fill!Lightly tighten the lid to prevent too much vacuum forming from the boiling water, shake a little, and put in the fridge until morning. If the cover is difficult to unscrew, I keep round silicone food grippers on hand (also found on Amazon) so my hand doesn't slip while turning. Sometimes running hot water over the thermos lid works. The steel sides also have gripper bumps and a sleeve. The inside of the lid is also steel, unlike other thermoses with all-plastic lids.By morning, the "quick-cook steel oats" are cooked and ready for heating. Microwave in a cereal bowl for about 1.5 minutes, and add toppings if you like!MORE? After a while I decided that additional flavors might be a nice change of pace! I started by quickly dunking a herbal tea bag into the boiling water and oats a few times; just before closing the lid!Two favorites are Paul Newman's organic Cinnamon Spice, and the stronger Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice. (also found on Amazon)During summer herbal fruit teas are a nice change. The tea-bag flavoring is subtle, and healthy!

Amazing! Food is still hot 4-5 hours later!
We've been through a few thermos options for my kids' lunches. Most of the time, the food is cold by noon. I bought these as one last try and they are amazing. The food stays warm, they are easy to clean, and they don't leak. My kids are hard on their lunchboxes, but these have handled it well. I'm not sure if it's required, but I do put warm water in the thermos for a few minutes before dumping it and then adding the lunch food.

6 hours, still hot!
I've tested this thing out twice before I send it to school with my kindergartener. First time was tomato soup at 6 hours - still comfortably hot enough to please an adult. Second test was tomato soup at 5 hours and still steaming hot, my child wouldn't even drink it at this temp.My only concern would be whether or not my 6 yr old can get the lid off - but that will come with most thermos. Perhaps if there were a different style to the lid allowing a small child to grab on easier. Nonetheless, it does what it says and now I'm off to find an adult size!!

Holds Up to a Kid Who Isn't Gentle
My son breaks stuff. Not on purpose, he just isn't gentle. This has held up for six months and is going strong. I can send hot food to school, or a cold drink. No leaks, no mess, no problem, and it goes in the dishwasher. When my other kids are old enough, I'll buy one for each of them too.

Such a disappointment
This is the first time I've ever returned a used product. Usually, if something doesn't work as advertised I just eat the cost and move on, but this food container actually angered me enough to bother returning it for a refund. It does not accomplish one thing it is designed to do.First, it leaks. There is literally no way to close it without it leaking. Multiple family members tried over multiple uses and it leaked every single time. And that was with "solid" foods like macaroni, rice, chili, etc. I cannot even imagine the mess that would result from trying soup.Second, it does not keep the contents even remotely warm. Closed with boiling water for 5-10 minutes, then filled with scalding hot food, and the contents were barely lukewarm after 3 hours. I'm not even sure how that's possible, but this container manages. We have another thermos we use and the same procedure yields food still almost too hot to eat after 6 hours.Third, and more of a design issue, the container is very large for the amount that it holds. The lid sits far down into the container making much of its height unusable space. Would be fine for younger kids or small portions, but the amount of space it takes up in a lunchbox vs. the small amount of food it stores is kind of annoying.I see that this Item gets many 5-star reviews. I don't know if previous versions were manufactured to different specs or maybe I just got a dud. Either way, it was a frustrating waste of time and food.

Non vale la pena perché il cibo è freddo
L'ho acquistato per il pranzo in asilo della mia bimba ma il cibo arriva all'ora del pranzo freddo, tiepido quando va bene. Una delusione.

Top!
Das Essen bleibt lange warm. Die Dose ist auslaufsicher. Leider ist der Deckel nicht ganz geruchsresistent.
