Alien: Isolation: The Alien™ Series

This was a great read!

Entertaining book. Quick read. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. Not my favorite out of the Alien novelizations, but still enjoyable.

Read this book and I was not expected to feel emotional and reflect on what it is to be human. This book illustrates the dept of who is Ellen Ripley and the bond she has with her daughter that motivates het to keep her faith and stay alive.

Alien Isolation is an amazing game, fitting into a Universe that has been telling stories for decades.I jumped into the novel hoping for a fun scary retelling of the games story, but was sadly left with boring back story involving Amanda's job history.Honestly the novel wasn't bad, but I'd rather have a backstory of the aliens taking over Sevastopol station intertwined with Amanda's nightmarish experience with the Xenomorph, working Joe's and broken survivors.I felt no real sense of dread when reading the novel, and everything that made the game great was missing in the pages.I'd give the novel less than 3-stars, but because I'm a fan of the game, I decided to keep it in the middle.In space, no one can hear you complain about this novel.

The original video game this is based on was an excellent extension of the first two films. Story-wise it was better than the 3rd and 4th movie sequels and the gameplay was unique and challenging. Overall it captured the fear and desperation of the original.This novelization expands on the narrative while maintains that same atmosphere and emotional reaction.A worthy addition to the franchise that is in many ways superior to some of the films.

What a beautifully written adaptation, it takes us into the characters' personal struggles and background stories, the things we would have liked to have seen in the game. I couldn't recommend it more. It reminds me at times of the early Asimov stories, so well written. Looking forward to new books.

Story was good. Dialogue was good but wasn’t great. Still a good read for a fan of the Alien series.

I don't know anything about video games that refer to this story. I didn't know anything about Amanda Ripley, except what was mentioned in the films. I don't care about video games, but I do care about good stories, and the Alien story in all of its print and film ma infestations is a brilliant and unforgettable story. Keith R. A. EsCondido has crafted a riveting story that is as good, thrilling, and ultimately redeeming as any I've read.

A great more in depth story based on the game. Excellent condition

Finito di leggere pochi giorni fa e l'ho trovato inaspettatamente bello."Inaspettatamente" perché quando si parla di libri tratti dai videogiochi spesso (non sempre) ci si trova davanti un mero copia-incolla della storia del videogioco senza aggiunte o approfondimenti di alcun genere.Il libro di Isolation, invece, si é rivelato un'espansione dell'esperienza vissuta con il videogioco, non va a sostituirlo ma va ad integrare la storia, concentrandosi sul lato introspettivo e psicologico, andando a raccontare la storia passata di Amanda Ripley, attraverso episodi flashback che partono dalla scomparsa della madre, quando aveva 11 anni fino alla missione che l'ha portata sulla Sevastapol.Ci sono alcune differenze con la storia del videogioco, il finale, gli ultimissimi attimi, é stato leggermente riscritto ed approfondito.

Llegó con la portada doblada por la mitad y con un buen montón de páginas con las esquinas dobladas también.
