Tiny fonts!
The Kindle version requires an electron microscope to read the tiny text. It can't be fixed. Caveat emptor.

Upside Down Cover!
Bought this book to decide if it would work as gifts for several colleagues. Not yet sure about the content, but the cover is UPSIDE DOWN!!! No way will I gift a hardback book with an upside down cover. Rather tacky.

Colorful book about a beautiful country.
Be More Japan: The Art of Japanese Living arrived and I immediately opened it and took a quick look at what is inside this colorful book. Later that evening I settled back in my recliner and took a couple of hours to explore this beautiful book. I was delighted with what I found. I have the book here on my desk and will mention a few things that might interest prospective buyers of this book.First, this is a DK Eyewitness book. I have many DK books and this one is similar in that it is filled from beginning to end with colorful pictures, most of which have accompanying text that explains what we see on the page. This is a show and tell book with a good balance between text and pictures. The DK editors have as their purpose to show us Japan at its best and encourage us to take a trip to this great and unusual country. I say unusual because the Japanese culture is unlike our own American culture. For me, that made reading the text and looking at the pictures genuinely interesting and entertaining.Be More Japan has 224 pages packed with information from the early history of the country to pop culture today. Additionally, the geography of the country is fully explored and is important in understanding the Japanese people, an island nation content to go its own way until 1853 when our own Commodore Matthew Perry anchored his ship in Japanese waters and reintroduced Japan to Western society.Perhaps some readers are familiar with the fact that the Japanese people are among the healthiest in the world. I had read about the remarkable lifespan of the Japanese people living on Okinawa, the island farthest south in Japan. Diet is one of the reasons for the good health of the people living on Okinawa and this DK book gives us some information on favorite Japanese foods and beverages. I drink Japanese Sencha tea every day and learned about all the other teas that are favorites with the Japanese people. I encourage readers to give Japanese green tea a try; it tastes great and is a genuinely healthy beverage.Of course, I am just scratching the surface with this review. I was familiar with Japanese Zen Buddhist practice, but learned about other important Japanese religious beliefs. Additionally, my last two cars have been made by Toyota; I am impressed with the quality and workmanship of Japanese products. In fact, after reading this fine DK book, I have a new respect for this important country. Japan may be small in size, but reading Be More Japan shows us why Japan is a major influence in the world today. Recommended without reservation.

Goes beyond a regular travel guide :)
Flip open a page & you will be spirited away into all things Japan - past, present & future. DK has a strong track record in pouring meticulous effort to curate the best content for its readers, though be warned of the extensive romaji used throughout this book. Otherwise it provides a solid primer & a delightful visual escapade for all aspiring to travel to the Land of the Rising Sun. Highly recommended!

KINDLE FORMAT WRONG!!!
The Kindle format seems to be like a pdf but it cannot be enlarged and therefore is unreadable. I have submitted feedback to Customer Service but so far no response. Waste of money.
