These fit the bill for handling a cast iron skillet as the handle(s) can get hot. I sometimes need to also use a second hot pad or insulated glove when the handles of the skillet get very hot.

My wife bought me a 15" Iron Skillet to take with me when I do BSA campouts with my son. I do the cooking for the adults. Yes the adults camp separate from the kids. They have to cook their own stuff, but the adults eat very well. I take my iron skillets and it helps make the biggest cinnamon rolls, 2 packs of bacon, or a mountain man breakfast that is out of this world., these hand protectors will keep your iron skillet from being your worst experience.

Just got these in today and im hoping mine were just defective (to big).. I bought them based on the really good reviews and the fact they were made specifically for cast iron.. Mine were very big on my handle and when i turned the gas off to the burner and slipped the handle holder on it was a bit difficult to grasp the handle tight with the loose holder and when i released the handle it slid right off and right under another burner i had on... However i gave it a solid 4 because the quality and the heat resistance.

Thank goodness these are available! They fit my cast iron skillet exactly and are great protection. Since these potholders seem to last forever,it will be a while before I repeat my order .But I certainly will !

Perfect for what I wanted. Can leave it on and it won't get hot, it wont melt, and easy to clean. Now don't have to grab my oven mitt all the time.My handle was 7" long as measured from the rim and 1.5" across at it's thickest. The sleeve fits perfectly and leaves a 1.5" gap at the front of the handle, meaning it is covering 5.5" of the handle which is fine. There is still a little bit of extra room width wise, so it could handle a slightly wider handle.

I've been using these handle covers on my cast iron pans for years. I've tried the silicon type but they slipped to the point where they were flat-out dangerous. I got rid of those and now only use these cloth handle covers. I get a much better grip when lifting pans off of the stove.I keep several of these on hand at home and in my camper.

Works great for me. Slip it on and move your pan so you don’t get burned.
