AEOTEC ZWA008-C Door Window Sensor 7, 3.6 V

I had 3x fibaro fgk-101 fail on me over the past 12 months. Having had several aeotech sensors and switches, I decided to opt for one of these to try out.When I paired with smarthings I got the generic zwave driver and it worked fine. Thought I was going to have to rewrite the device driver to give me tamper etc, and found it was available on the aeotech support web site.This code works fine and gives a number of functions different to the fabaro.1. I can switch between external (dry contact) and the internal reed switch.2. I can have NO or NC based upon the setting.3. I loose the temperature function which isnt available with Aeotech.4. Only available in white!!! (you have to paint it if you want a different colour)It is a fraction (not noticable) smaller than the Fibaro but other than that a perfect replacement.After 2 months testing, I'll be replacing the other dead Fibaro products (ouch expensive!) but that's ok, they are needed for security and automation purposes.

The £35 price tag is steep. Having said that, I have had Aqara sensors fail to pair and Sonoff die after 3 days in service. This one still has 100% battery reporting and has worked flawlessly. I have no real z-wave mesh but for security this is ideal. A little bigger than other sensors but that is due to the larger battery and anti tamper device.

Looks and feels quality. Took a lot of fiddling to get it connected to hubitat but once set up works very reliably.

I've got two - I've put one of these on the back door and another on a side door.After some initial issues with the supplied flat magnet only being detected in some orientations, I went with the supplied cylinder magnet for both doors. With this setup, the LED flashes 100% of the time to show the hall effect sensor is detecting the magnet, however it is hard/impossible to tell from the flashes if the sensor is detecting the door as closed or closing & immediately re-opening.The LED flashes to indicate that it has detected the magnet moving 100% of the time, but home assistant only shows the correct state of the door about 80% of the time (i.e. it often shows the door as open and when I go a look at it, it is closed).I've got a couple of powered repeaters and it is well within range of both those and the z-wave stick (and closer than other devices that are working fine).I can't really tell if the problem is with the sensor thinking the door has "bounced" (and not transmitting anything) or if these have poor range.

First one worked for a few hours and then died. For the short time it worked well albeit slow to respond. Will post another review when the next one arrived

This door/window sensor, is awesome! Works really well, reports all the expected info (battery, tamper, and of course contact state)Included it in my own developed system, and it works flawlessly.I have used a lot of Aeotecs devices - and like the others I have used, this does not disappoint.

bought for my tool shed door i could not get it to work

I had the prevous generatikn, the triangular one, which shape I preferred, but it couldnt keep a charge for more than a week. This one works petfevtly with Homey and Smartthings.

J'avais déjà utilisé ce produit pour contact d'ouverture, mais cette fois-ci, il sert d'alarme en cas de contact sec actif (flotteur d'alarme). Bien connecté sur le réseau Z-Wave, je suis maintenant alerté en temps réel si le niveau monte trop haut, et ce sans avoir à tirer de câbles.

Der z-wave Türsensor funktioniert "out of the box" problemlos mit dem Samsung Smartthings V3 hub.Dafür allein gibt es schon mal ein Lob. Die Reichweite ist sehr gut, und die Meldung hat keine merkbare Verzögerung. Ich nutze den Sensor allerdings nicht als Türsensor, sondern - unter Verwendung der dry contact Anschlüsse und eines kleinen Relays - als Sensor für Stromausfälle. Das funktioniert sehr gut. Die Einstellungsmöglichkeiten sind - typisch für z-wave-Geräte - nur über "z-wave Parameter" zugänglich, was dem Normalanwender vermutlich zu kompliziert ist (auch weil man die dazu gehörige Dokumentation nur nach etwas Googlen im Netz findet, und sie auch recht kryptisch ist; um etwas Herumprobieren kommt man nicht rum). Wenn man den Sensor aber nur als Türsensor verwenden will, braucht man das alles nicht, und der Sensor ist sehr einfach in der Benutzung. Für eine solche Verwendung ist er Sensor aber fast zu schade, und auch zu teuer. Für etwas gehobene Anwendungen gibt es aber kaum eine vernünftige Alternative. Daher mein Urteil: Sehr empfehlenswert.

Questo è un sensore zwave magnetico solitamente utilizzato per segnalare la chiusura di una porta o una finestra ad un controller zwave per domotica ed avviare azioni di conseguenza. Ma può fare di più, essendo dotato di una morsettiera interna, può essere collegato ad un contatto elettrico pulito ( cioè privo di corrente che scorre in esso) e segnalare al controller domotico la chiusura del contatto, quindi il dispositivo rileva sia una chiusura meccanica, tramite un magnete, sì la chiusura elettrica , tramite un contatto ad esso collegato. Sì tratta quindi di un prodotto molto versatile per la gestione domotica dei vari eventi presenti in una casa. Rileva anche quando questo viene inclinato rispetto la verticale di montaggio.Durata batteria sembra davvero ottima.compatibile con hub zwave homee, senza problemi. Molto reattivo e veloce nel trasmettere il segnale al controller zwave,Prezzo adeguato alla qualità, ed ingombri minimi, uno dei più piccoli sensori di prossimità zwave sul mercato.

Ottima copertura (10mt fuori casa attraverso un muro portante, funziona perfettamente), sensore magnetico di apertura porta + inclinazione, con il plus può essere configurato come modulo generico di input (1 input, ignorando il magnete), unico modulo a batteria che ho trovato abbinabile nel mio caso a FIbaro HC2 (quindi adatto per "leggere" sensori generici non z-wave).
