A Great Replacement for a Weird Problem
I purchased and had installed a Pentair spa heater late last summer. Works great. Very happy. However I noticed sometimes when I was back among the pool pumps that the heater was on even though I hadn’t turned it on or left it on. Didn’t make sense. I talk to my pool guy and he’s not sure what’s going on. Fast forward six months. My pool guy contacts me and says he has a customer with the same problem. Brand new heater too! He said that moisture was getting into the contacts. He felt this was a cheap solution if I wanted to do the work and not go through contacting the manufacturer about warranty repair. The old one was simple to remove. Two screws on the left side to get to the connector and a simple peeling off of the old one and sticking the new one on in its place. And I looked at the old one and sure enough it had moisture where the issue was. Frustrating that a new heater would have this problem. Great that there was a low cost solution! The photo is of the old one and I’ve circled where the moisture was causing the problem.

Fit and worked perfectly
My pool heater shorted out in a rain storm and went on by itself. Manufacture recommended this part. Took about twenty to remove the four screws holding on the cover then the four screws holding the circuit board. Removed old cable, attached new, cleaned everything and put back together. Very easy job for a home handyman. Only thing to worry about is the alignment of the new part because once it is down it is down. (Very strong adhesion)

Exchanged for Another
I'm on my second touchpad so the jury is still out on this one. First one didn't last a whole day. I left the pool heater running just to get to a specific temperature. I'll never know if it raised my temperature 2 degrees because the touchpad stopped communicating with the control board so I couldn't see any of the numbers. I just did an exchange figuring I had a faulty touchpad. I have the second one running full steam for 3 days now.

Master Temp key pad fixed problems
Our pool heater (Mastertemp 250) was turning on by itself in spa mode. Took 5 minutes to remove front cover of heater, remove plug from mother board and replace the keypad. Simply peel back the old key pad and follow the ribbon to the point of connection on the motherboard and slide it off. Then feed the new ribbon through the slot and connect the new ribbon to the pins on the motherboard. This keypad fixed the issues we were having. Looking at the backside of the old pad we could see a burn mark in line of one of the electrical ribbons. Hope this helps you out.

Works great on master temp 400
My heater was switching itself on at random....still waiting for gas bill. This solves the problem, easy to install and 60% cheaper than OEM. The issue is water getting inside the pad so i added silicon (badly) to channel water away. Great cheap fix. 5 star

It was a good replacement for the factory part, but came with no instructions.
There were no installation instructions provided, but once I was able to figure that out the part operates as it should. But unlike the factory keypad, this one has a clear window over the LED read out. This makes the read out more difficult to read. So I cut out the red-shaded window from the old failed panel and placed it over the window on the new panel.

Good value
Installed it for a customer. Only issue is the connector is really snug for the control board so you get what you pay for in that regard. So when you go to connect you should take extra care not to use too much force otherwise you risk breaking a component. Fortunately that didn't happen. As far as functionality it works great over a month after install. If you can afford the pentair version then go for it to make the install as easy as possible.

It works!
After a year of our pool/spa heater not working I figured it out. I switched out the membrane key pad and got a service code of 126. Still the heat would not turn on, so I did some research and I changed out the high limit switch (42001-0063S) and thermistor (42001-0053S) and success we have heat. All bought on amazon and we saved a bunch of money.
