Works but read entire review for program advice.
Works great but only has burner programs included. You will need a advanced program to play Blu-ray films on laptops and desktops. VLC free works great with Dvds and CD. Standard CD can also be played with WMP. Cyberlink powerDVD 18 (payable - depending on you knowledge) or above recommend for play Blu-ray. The included programs work great for burning and ripping. (We have alot of audiobooks on cd we like to have on our MP3 for travel) Usb c connection is brilliant for my laptop. (It is by chance also a Asus) This Product works a charm as long as you have the right programs. CDs, and likely regular dvds, will be plug and play. The burning programs are easy to install just be wary of the spam included as always. The player is mostly silent, only startup it has a thinking hum. It doesn't turn hot at all. Sleek design.

No help provided
The big problem is that no information is provided that this Blu-Ray player/burner needs special software to actually play Blu-Ray disks. Neither Amazon nor ASUS clearly warned punters of this. Eventually, after well over an hour of frustration, I found that a search for "Programs to run Blue-Ray" gave some good answers and I chose for my Mac the program 'Blu-Ray Player Pro'. To make it worse, while this program is not bad, it had no Help manual either. Then it took another hour first to prove I could get it to run on a Mac Studio and then on a bottom of the range old Intel Macbook Air that could drive the odd TV. It did run on both and produced a good quality image and audio of The Prisoner (long story) on both. The only trouble I had was synchronising the audio with the picture and while it is better now, I am not sure how I did it. The final result is 'Not Bad, Good even, but prepare yourself for a slog to get it all working'.

Not fit for purpose.
Failed after just 8 months, very occasional use and looked after it. Now it burns reasonably well but won't ready anything it burns (those burnt discs read perfect on another drive) so looks like the read head is faulty. Not fit for purpose hence returning.

Does what it says on the tin
Not had a chance to use it to it's full potential yet but fast at copying CDs.

Works Very Well
The lead is very short - but a nice slim lightweight drive.

Perfect
Best one I’ve found had no wasted discs to date

A bit too flimy overall
Initially this worked very well, but after some 6 months grew more and more temperamental - had to be stopped and restarted ( unplugged an plugged in again, disc ejected and reinserted, interrupted (frozen) playback resumed) increasingly frequently, a bit over a year stopping dead completely. Ye, I've had wore, but it's still annoyig. Further drawbacks: A) It got very noisy at times (loud whirring ound for up to 30sec at a time (presumably fan cooling) - really irritating during quiet musical passages B) The input socket is too flimsy - in the final few months the slightet touch resulted in the connection being lost, requiring a fair bit of wggling to restre it.
