Chicago Fire Season 7 [DVD] [2019]

Can be watched in European bluray players, subtitles are not nordic. Great serie still. Real looking accidents and actors work is excellent. Very well done.

Back to Firehouse 51- head of an excellent cast, Eamonn Walker as Chief Wallace Boden continuing to steer his Team through challenging times. As though the daily risk to lives were not enough, all are now at the mercy of Assistant Deputy Commissioner Gorsch. Totally loathsome, this nasty little man has installed himself at the Firehouse. His aim is forever to find fault, in due course to submit a report declaring current leadership not fit for purpose. It is a tribute to the show, we care so much for its characters - fervent wish that Gorsch will not reign supreme but receive long overdue comeuppance. Meanwhile there is the adrenaline-fuelled excitement we have come to expect - crew racing off to deal with the latest emergency, lives possibly in peril, images perhaps ever afterwards to haunt. Several key characters are to undergo personal crises - they indebted to Boden's fine leadership and support from colleagues. Coming over strongly is the chemistry of all those involved. Tempers may flare, but woe betide any who threatens one of their own! Thank goodness for humour that so often reduces the stress! 22 episodes + three crossovers, one with CHICAGO MED, two with CHICAGO PD. These are an excellent demonstration that the three branches of Chicago's emergency forces do not work in isolation. Characters from one series often crop up in another, even if only fleetingly. It makes sense for CHICAGO MED to be seen treating fire victims, CHICAGO PD investigating possible arson. Arguably not everything works - some of the humour rather dire. (Firehouse makeover? That was just silly.) Certain romantic subplots seem rather loosely contrived. Such reservations are minor concerns. Overall this series is truly great - not least a worthy reminder of how much we owe to those dedicated to keeping us safe.

Following the lives and loves of firehouse 51 with crossovers to Chicago Med and PD highly recommend.

Love this programme. I watched it live when it was on telly. As soon as dvd arrived I started watching it that night. I had watched all 22 episodes in four nights after I had finished work.

What a series I've watched it from the beginning, cliffhangers keep you on the edge of your seat till the next season, GO ON TREAT YOURSELF !!

Love Chicago fire but sad at the end of this series.

Season seven of Chicago Fire pretty much follows the same format that the show has had from day one. Each episode is mainly self-contained. There are story arcs that weave through the episodes (both in the professional and personal lives of the various characters), and then the fire/rescue sequences that interrupt at pretty much any time. Then, of course, there are crossover episodes. This season there was a three-show crossover very early in the season with Chicago Med and Chicago PD, then a two-show crossover later in the season with Chicago PD. There is more cast turnover this year with Gabby off in Puerto Rico (Monica Raymund made a couple of appearances early in the season) and Annie Llonzoh joined the cast as the new paramedic, Emily Foster. The end of the season sees pretty much every member of the cast (again) in danger from an out-of-control fire, ending (again) on a cliffhanger. For those who get the DVD set, the only bonus material/extras are the crossover episodes for Med and PD. There are no behind-the-scenes features as there were in the first few season releases. It is basically just a MOD DVD set with the episodes and that is it. Overall, the show is still good, and the writers have done a good job advancing the storylines to keep the show from getting stale. I think the cast turnover actually helps the show, even though it is sad to see characters leave. The acting continues to be very good, and the show does a good job balancing the large ensemble cast. I'd say if you have been a fan of the show's prior seasons you will probably like this one as well. On the other hand, if you have not liked the prior seasons of the show, this one will probably not convert you. If you only get the physical DVD sets when there are a lot of extras then you probably will just want to stick to streaming this (unless you are getting it to have a complete collection).

This was the latest season for my library and it did not fail to meet my expectations. I got into this television series after watching the other two Chicago series PD and Med. It took my daughter giving me the first five seasons to catch up but I have to say this is my favorite tv series on today. The characters are all likes le but have their flaws. The action scenes are exciting and well done. I would recommend this set to anyone and have.
