Alienware 17 R5
This charger will work for the Alienware 17 R5 in a pinch, but every time you plug it into the laptop, there is a BIOS message that the 180W is less than the original factory 240W charger that was shipped with the laptop, and it will take longer to charge and power consumption will be adjusted for the lower wattage. I plan to trade in for the higher wattage charger to have as a spare.

Stopped working after 2 months
In short, just buy your laptop manufacturer’s charger. This will stop working after a month or so of usage. Worked great at first, but then it started to die out on me. I would have to unplug it and plug it back in again to work. It permanently died on me this morning, so I’m returning it and just buying the Dell replacement I should’ve bought in the first place.

my alien laptop power cord was cut while on vacation. i ordered this as a replacement. it did not have the amp, to power my computer.
