They're not bulbs though...
They're basically just cheap strip LEDs in a plastic cup attached to a G9 base. Yet, they're still the best G9 LEDs I've found. I had been using utilitech LEDs from the local hardware megamart & they all cost a LOT more & burn HOT (ie THEY burn UP). You can grab these JandCase cobs with your bare hands & they put out more light, in more directions. Obviously they're not intended for any sort of color critical application. They are cheap G9 LED COBS of acceptable quality. I'm actually getting socket adapters so I can use this style instead of standard bulbs. They're compact, bright, they don't get hot, they're LEDs, they last a long time, only 5W, the manufacturing process is right where it needs to be.... there's not much to not like about these...Mine came packed with a swanky foam protector thing. so that's nice.

I ordered these bulbs a few days ago -immediately installed them and have zero complaints! Prior to purchasing them there was one or more complaints regarding "flickering" with their bulb. My assumption is maybe there is something wrong with their fixture and not the bulb? I'm guessing but -these bulbs work very well thus far. They are bright and did the job for moi. If anyone thinks these bulbs are not bright it could be that their basing it on ONE bulb (keep in mind location too) whereas my pendant fixtures required 3 per pendant (I have 3 hanging over my breakfast bar) so I have 120 watts in each pendant an because these bulbs are sooo bright I only used 2 bulbs (80 watt) per pendant. Moral here is that EVERY situation is different. If your considering buying these lights unless someone can say they are faulty and never worked, I'm not sure I'd allow flickering or too dim to make my decision. Your fixture plays a role as well as where these lights will be used.

Great halogen replacement
I bought these to replace halogen bulbs in two basement ceiling fixtures in a hallway. The halogens were not only pretty yellow, but also put out a tremendous amount of heat into the light fixtures at the ceiling and I didn't like that. These were a great replacement with a true daylight white color. Not blueish. Very little heat output and 1/10 of the energy consumption.

Bad color, bad flicker.
While the color of these lights are terrific, they ABSOLUTELY DO FLICKER, as evidenced by the video I took. Video was shot at 240 frames/sec, and you can see they flicker about 4 times per sec, or at 60hz, which is what you would expect. Both my wife and I can easily see the flicker with our naked eye. When running water it you can see a strobe effect hitting the shower.I just want to point out that the flicker is NOT exactly like the video. The video is in slow motion. 1/8 the speed, but I did that so you can easily see proof that it flickers. Also, after using these for quite some time and comparing to other LEDs that we've installed in the house, the color of these is terrible. Almost a greenish/yellow tint. I

Be sure to check length of bulb—this one is too long for my application
I bought these lights that are housed at the bottom of my microwave that illuminates the range below. They work sometimes, but not always. The problem? They are 2” in length and I should have bought a bulb a bit smaller, maybe 1.5”. They are hard to fit, and if I squeeze it in, the bulb frquently comes loose. Will look for another G9 bulb that is shorter, dimmable and soft white in color—this one is too blue. My mistake. Will look for a replacement on Amazon. Update: after less than 1 year in service, one of the two bulbs melted and quit working. Supposedly, these are covered by a one-year warranty but the seller doesn’t explain how to get. Since I am not happy with these bulbs, I won’t try and get a replacement and put my purchase into a category I call “stupid mistakes—life is too short to worry about—move on and find a better solution.”

lights are not very bright.
I installed a couple of the bulbs and clearly these 40 watt bulbs are no where near as bright as the existing 35 watt incandescent bulbs. The bulbs themselves appear to be good quality. However, I wanted the light from the new bulbs to be at least as bright as the 35 watt incandescent bulbs.

Initially bad, until my dad switched from low to high.
I thought these were terrible bulbs until my dad switched the under cabinet fixture from low to high. Now I know they're great and I'm changing my review. The second photo shows what the bulbs truly look like (and the switch with 1 bar (low), two bars (high) and zero (off).Previous review:I was looking to replace the bulbs in the under cabinet lighting fixtures in my new house because the halogen bulbs get very hot and I'm sure would change the flavor of oils and vinegars. I tried 3.5W Sylvania CFL G9, but it flickered. I tried the JandCase 5W LED G9, but it was so dim, I wasn't sure it was on until I looked under and saw that it was on, but very dim.See for yourself in the photo. In the photo, JandCase 5W LED G9 is on the left, 3.5W Sylvania CFL G9 is in the middle, and halogen on right.

These kept burning out. The seller replaced two that had burned out within a week, but now others have stopped working. I will not buy again.
