Perfect viewing window for catwalk box
Bought this to cover a “window” on a wall mounted cat box/platform. We installed steps and boxes/hammocks on the wall of our living room for our cats, and one of the tallest boxes at the end has sight windows cut into it. Within minutes, our kittens realized they could jump from this window onto a hanging lamp shade which was not sturdy enough to hold the weight of the kittens. This dome window works perfectly, true to size for what we needed and it allows our cats to still poke their heads through the sight window and look around, but keeps them from skydiving out of it. The lip flange has predrilled holes that were wide enough to fit typical screws without cracking the plastic, and the flange is about half an inch thick, which was wide enough for us to get a good attachment for our use. I also like the quality of the plastic, it’s very clear and doesn’t have any haziness fogging up the view through it. Easy to install, great price, and looks like it was supposed to be a part of the cat box the entire time.

Favorite lounge bowl for our cat
I cut a hole in a 5/8 plywood just enough for this bowl to fit in. I used a cardboard sheet to create my template. I reduced the diameter during first cut and reduced it slowly until the bowl fit tight. What this did was, I didnt have to screw the bowl down as that seemed to the point of failure for others. And I didnt want any sharp stuff jutting out on the surface. Used a couple of heavy duty L brackets from hardware store and mounted below the window. Between the cat tree and this bowl, our teen kitten spends most of his time in this bowl - watching outside the window or even sleeping. Until now, the bowl hasnt come loose, despite our kitty doing all sort of acrobatic stuff on/in it. If it does, Im planning to use some sort of acrylic safe adhesive to bond the lipping to the plywood. Best purchase ever!

Perfect for my faerie garden!
Didn’t really need to “install” it because I bought it as a dome for our indoor faerie garden. It works perfectly!! I got sick of replacing dead plants so I went to artificial grass, moss, and pretty bushes. All artificial and all purchased on amazon. To keep the dust and dog hair out I needed a dome to fit over the area and this is perfect as I’ve already said. A totally different use for this item, but since I got it using amazon reward points it was low cost. Look at the photo of the faerie garden without the dome and with the dome. I am super happy. Note: it came with a crack in the dome (it’s hidden behind the faerie house) so I’m sending it back for a replacement. Wanted to post a pic right away anyway, but I’ll update the review if the next globe isn’t up to par.

Adequate but not the quality I needed
I'm giving this 1.0" dome a score of 3 due to imperfections. I'm wiring a mini 5MP security camera inside my mailbox to look back at my home from the street. The plan is to have the camera lens protrude out a small hole in the mailbox and covered with a mini dome. While I was expecting some distortion with such tight curvature, this particular dome has too many imperfections to be useful for my project. The pictures show the view from my security camera, first out in open air and next with me holding the mini dome right over the lens as close as I could get it to the front of the lens. If I wasn't needing a perfect picture, the 1" dome would probably be acceptable, however, since it made several areas blurry it's not going to work for this project. I also ordered a 1.5" and 2.0" to see how they would perform and I will review them separately.
