My colored blonde hair gets very brassy in spots even right after my hair appointments. I put the mask on and left it for 15 mins for the first time the day after my coloring appointment and the yellow did fade a bit, but not like I was hoping. So the next day I did it again for 30 mins and all the brassiness came out. My hair is so soft after using this mask, too, and I love it. I will continue to buy as long as I am blonde for upkeep, for sure. I also did not notice any kind of scent with this mask, even though I thought I read there was supposed to be one. If there is, it is subtle. Either way, it does what it says it will do and I am happy with it.~ Stephanie McG in NC

I bought this to try since I have been bleaching my hair and found that I always need to tone it afterwards to remove the "Simpson's yellow hair" tones. The jar I received was fully sealed, which was reassuring, but it wasn't a "purple mask" so much as a "blue mask". With that said, I was nervous about what it was going to do. I still tried it and I am SO HAPPY that I did. I think this stuff smells absolutely HEAVENLY and it made my hair so soft and shiny. I am extremely pleased that I did not have blue hair afterwards (sometimes it's purple when I used other purple masks). I think it did the same job as any other purple mask, as far as toning my freshly bleached hair, but this product made all of my hair so much softer than any other hair mask. Totally worth it & will definitely buy again!!

I needed to tone a mediocre home high-light and read several positive reviews about Purple Hair Mask. I have A LOT of hair and the amount of toner enclosed with the DIY home kits is never enough. I have used Purple twice now since high-lighting and I found I need to leave it in for the entire 15 minutes for any kind of result in managing the brassiness. Hair that is less brassy really turns out nice after using Purple. What I really like about the product is that my hair is super soft and easy to manage for several days.

When I bleach my hair, It always is too yellow, orange, copper, who knows what color but its embarrassing because so bright. People said get a toner & I'm not a professional so when i look at them, I'm clueless. I saw this & I dont know how it works but it just does. My hair looked the best ever, different shades & actually looked like a pro could have done it. I know it says wait to use, but I actually used next day & perfect. I used to wear hats for a week or 2 because just purple shampoo didnt work, 1st time I didnt have to. Wish I would of found sooner but at least I found the hair mask.

Does. Not. Work. First of all, the goop is not that dark purple color it shows in the picture. It's a light lavender. That alone tells me it's a no go. I have tried it twice now, leaving it on for an extended time. It did not remotely lighten, tone, or by any means improve my color. It was as if I had not put anything on it at all. So this was a total waste of money, and expensive at that. I want my money back. At best, you will get some moisturizing out of this, but no toning. Disappointed and disgusted.

This is a terrible hair mask. First of all, the smell is disgusting. Smells like a burned plastic toy. It’s not even purple, it’s BLUE. (????) and it doesn’t even tone your hair that well. I’ve been using this mask for two months now 2-3 times a week. My purple mousse does a better toning job than this.

This product has not corrected my blonde hair fully but my hair was nice and soft while using it. I am experimenting with my hair color. Not at all a professional.I bleached my own roots/hair and toned it. The 1st time with an ice toner which I liked, but later on decided to be more professional and darken my hair a bit. The second time I used a sand color toner and it must have turned my hair into a bright sun color. Not at all what I wanted. I needed to remove that horrible yellow. As you can see my roots are still visibly yellow but not as bad as they used to be.I used this product along with purple shampoo and of course my hair was seriously blue/purple/gray combined. I used another product 2 days after and washed it. It eliminated most of that yellow pigmentation out of my hair but the roots are still visibly yellow and I also remain with patches throughout my head. It is certainly much better than what I previously had but not completely fixed. I’m not sure what worked and what didn’t throughout my experimentation but one of the products or mixture of helped eliminate 50% of that horrific yellow.

made my hair feel really soft and did a great job getting out the brassy tones. sent is kinda subtle but definitely not bad, and my hair felt soft after unlike when i use a regular purple shampoo.editing my review: i recommend you use this after using your preferred purple shampoo. the first time i used it i used my regular shampoo and left it on for longer than the instructions (i left it on for about 45 minutes) and it definitely did remove some brassiness which i loved, but not as much as i imagined. the second time i tried it i used fanola no yellow shampoo when i washed before hand, then left this mask on for about an hour, and it worked beautifully. i do have thicker hair that doesn’t take to toning very well, and i have hard water that may effect the whole thing. overall i do still recommend and enjoy this product because it does also condition my hair.
