HC-550 LED Flashlight, Water Resistant LED Magnetic Work Light, Flash Light with AA Batteries Included, Pack of 2

I purchased this flashlight probably nearly almost 10 years ago when I got my first apartment as a single mother for power outages and it still works !!!! I loved it so much I decided to get another one for our now house , that way we each level can be stocked. We even took it to the beach this summer for crab hunting !!! It's perfect that it sticks to the fridge- the magnet is very strong, so no worries there! The light is extra bright & there's a couple options for how much light you want or need. It is not heavy & also comes with a hook. We Love that it is battery operated & the batteries last forever! We have also found that should you forget about the batteries for awhile, you can also just toss them, give the terminal a good clean with a q tip & a teensie bit of white distilled vinegar or a aor duster & let it dry out & replace with a new set of the recommended brand of batteries & voila! It's so cheap & extremely efficient & worthwhile in my opinion. Takes a hit from kids pretty well too, so I'd say the durability deserves a B+ or better too. 2 thumbs up!

They are AA battery operated, which I definitely prefer for power outages and hurricanes! Very bright and makes a large light! Easy to carry! Love, love, love the large magnet on the side! Can attach it to a metal/ steel front door, the car hood, the refrigerator, etc! It is hard and heavy duty enough that it could be used as a weapon/ club in self defense in a pinch!! Loved my first one so much that I purchased a second. I plan on order more!

This light gives confidence just by it's excellent solid build with pleasant, grippy overmolding. Illumination is ample and broad using the bright setting as a work light. The lower setting is less useful except for extending battery life, for example, as general illumination for walking a path at night. Trigger style switch makes it easy to turn on or off to save battery life. Battery compartment hatch is very sturdy and seals to maintain water resistance. Two magnets are located only on back side, i.e., opposite the light. They hold well (covered by the overmolding they won't scratch surfaces), but a magnet on the base would have been useful to help secure the unit standing upright. The light will stand on its base, but it's top-heavy and a bit tippy. Even if it had a base-mounted magnet, it's impractical to expect it could be held in a horizontal position with that magnet alone. A very well-designed and constructed tool that's a pleasure to use. UPDATE & TIP Aug 2019: Still great after lots of use. Thought there was a problem because light sometimes would not turn on right after being turned off, then worked again after a few minutes. Finally measured battery condition (Duh!) and found depleted cells after 5 mos. use. Fresh batteries fixed the "problem". The LED light output remains bright even with batteries that are almost done, so there's no dimming to warn it's time to replace batteries.

This is an excellent flashlight/worklight/emergency light that could be a lifesaver for those of us who live in fire and earthquake country. Highly intuitive design and very powerful magnet that makes it easy to place and find. It lit up the entire room at its 550 lumens maximum, and was bright enough to read by at its dimmed capacity of 150. It seems like a tough case that wouldn't shatter when dropped, and is water resistant. Really handy to have. I hung it in the back yard by the hook in the back to get a little extra light to work by this afternoon. Did really well. Overall, an excellent torch to have in emergencies and even just for regular use in the garage.

Bigger than I really expected but does not end up being a bad thing. It is bright compared to the energizer 2 AA swivel head work light. One nice thing is that this throws a whiter light so it seems brighter. That makes it easier when actually doing work with it. Down side of course is long exposure can strain your eyes and affect your mood but for actual work the white is preferred. Hook at the top seems to be okay. Feels a little flimsy but holds up under household use at the moment. Three magnets on the back are strong enough to hold the full flashlight against a magnetized surface. Only down side is the UI. You’d expect the second click to be the lowest setting it will go light their other work light but it is not. It is a little under half the brightness to my eye. If you are trying to save battery you will have to hold the button on the second click for about 4 seconds before it hits the dimmest setting and then go back up to the middle brightness before it turns off. Kind of bad at extending the battery life with that UI set up. This about the only con in my use so far. Oh and the actual switch is a bit high underneath the button cover. If you are trying to hit the middle of the button you will more than likely partly miss the actual button underneath. Just remember to hold it a little high when using the button.

This is a very rugged and bright work lamp. I keep work lights around to quickly grab to look under the hood or to add light when I'm working on painting or electrical projects. It is very versatile with being able to hang from the retractable hook or use the built in magnets. I captured a picture of the lamp hanging from my work bench using just one of two magnets. The light it throws off is well distributed and not focused at all, which is better to see larger areas. The 2 light settings of high or low are more than enough options, although there is a big discrepancy in battery usage between the two, as using on high will last about 8 hours and using on low will last you about 40 hours. As I mentioned it is very rugged and solidly built, and I believe the claim that it can survive a 2 story drop (although I don't have a desire to test it for myself).

good brightness. easy to work with. you can prop it up on its flat base or attach it to something magnetic. and the most important thing is it's disposable battery powered unlike the rechargeable ones where the batteries always die out and won't hold a charge by the time you need them.

This is a big light - especially compared to the others in the same ad. It floods a work area very well. Perfect for working in a car bonnet area and was very handy on a camping trip to use on a camp table. Just a low and high setting. The magnet is not the strongest I've seen but still more than adequate.
