Not what I wanted but not bad!
I would have liked to have given a 3.5* but... so I decided to be generous because the pen itself does write nicely. I returned it for personal reasons. I did not realize it was a screw off cap. My fountain pens have always had snap caps and I did not like the sound of metal it made when unscrewing it. While the description stated nothing about the cap, I should have looked closer at the picture, I would have seen the threads inside the cap. The next thing is that I like a medium nib. The description said "fine medium nib". I thought it meant fine as in good -- not "fine to medium". This is most definitely more towards the fine side. Additionally, because the cap is metal and the pen is wood, with the metal threads, the cap did not fit well on the pen when in use. These are all personal preferences and it basically is a good pen which writes well. I liked the weight of the pen, though because the cap didn't sit well on the pen when in use, I did not like the length of using just the pen. I don't know what I expected; I guess you can't expect a Mont Blanc in such an inexpensive pen. As I said, I returned it, which was quick and easy, and ordered a different, much more expensive, pen. We'll see. But for the price, if you are not picky, it is definitely worth the money.

Has a good feel to it
I gave it three stars because of the looks and how it feels in the hands. The nib is not very smooth when it comes to writing but it wasn't bad or uncomfortable either. However, after two months of using the pen, as I was opening it to refill the ink, the cartridge stayed stuck inside the body and only the top part screwed out. A slight force helped me to pull the cartridge out as it was stuck inside the body of the pen. Afterwards, the cartridge just did not fit back in. I can't use the pen any more.It was a gamble in the first place. I have used Cross and Parker and I love those. I wanted to get a pen with wood body.

It is now my everyday use pen
I am in a profession where I use a pen daily. I prefer a quill pen and usually use a Pilot "Varsity." I ordered this due mainly to it being copper. Bacteria and viruses don't live on copper as it does on other surfaces. The fact that the pen writes smoothly and superbly is a bonus, I am pleasantly surprised. It has become my everyday pen (I have 2 Varsity and three other quills). You can't go wrong to give it a try for the money, it's a great value and please read scientific articles on copper being a viral resistant surface.

It makes a nice desk pen
Very few materials go together as well as brass and wood. This pen looks good on a desk in its wooden (which unfortunately doesn't match the wood on the pen) desk stand. After inking up I found it to be a decent writer, I did feel it needed a little smoothing which I did with a piece of card stock. After a few minutes of working the nib it wrote smooth as silk across the paper. The fine point felt nice and had almost no bite to it when writing on cheaper paper, on Rhodia 90g paper it felt like silk.Ink flow was good and I only experienced skipping on glossy note cards, but that is not uncommon for fountain pens in general.Overall I would recommend this desk pen to anyone that appreciates the look and feel of wood with brass.
