Mounting plate was not an exact match for the tripod it was listed to fit
The base fit up had to be altered by enlarging the security pin openings slightly . . . a Dremel and a soft touch did the job . . . this base is of better construction than the original base, just slightly too narrow at the pins requiring a mild retouch to enlarge to allow proper fit-up.

Flimsy Tightening Ring
I bought 3 of these. The tightening ring on one of them broke off after first use. Now I have to be careful not to tighten the ring on the others too much because it is flimsy and will twist off.

I ordered this for the Zomei Z699C tripod but returned this tripod. I found this plate works fine for the Z988 tripod that I order in place of the Z699C. It works fine.
