So when I saw that the third book ‘Things We Never Said’ would be coming out soon I couldn’t resist and pre-ordered this book immediately. And I was so excited when the book was send to my kindle and I could start reading. In ‘Things We Never Said’ we follow the story of Dahlia and Michael. Dahlia has been living in Hartwell for nine year now, and she really likes her easy and silent life there. But when something happens to her father, she is forced to go back to the place she grew up and left in a hurry all those years ago. Dahlia hasn’t been back to Boston in years, and now she’s not only forced to deal with a lot of hard memories, but there’s also Michael. The guy she loved more than anything and who she hasn’t seen or talked to in years. Every time I’m reading a series that I really really love, I’m afraid the next book won’t be as good as the first one. Because well.. how can a book be as good as the one you loved so much?! But Samantha Young is always surprising me. I just loved ‘Things We Never Said’! From the moment I started reading I just couldn’t stop and I just never wanted this book to end. The two main characters Dahlia and Michael where so fun to read about. I just loved getting to know them. There was so much chemistry between Dahlia and Michael and I was rooting for them from the very beginning. I loved how this story was a second-change-love story and how we slowly found out more about Dahlia and Michael’s past. And it was also really fun to read a little about the previous characters in this series. Yes, ‘Things We Never Read’ was definitely another great read for me. And I can’t wait to read more books in this series. Review: WE NEED A BOOK ABOUT EMERY STAT! I WANT IT NOW! - 4 stars! Hart's Boardwalk is a series that has wormed it's way into my heart. I enjoyed the first two books very much, and what keeps me invested in this series is the complex characters that I have grown to love. In this third novel (which I personally think can be read as a standalone) we learn about Dahlia, a metal shop owner who makes jewelry and Michael, a cop in Boston. Years ago they had been in love, but a devastating event ripped them apart and has been haunting both of them. When Dahlia returns to Boston for the first time in 9 years to visit her father, she and Michael meet again. Sparks fly, and when Dahlia leaves for Delaware again, Michael follows her. I love my angsty romances and Samantha Young always delivers. I haven't been reading much romance lately, so I have to be selective with the authors I choose and I always come back to Young. She writes the best stories and I find myself completely enamored with her characters and stories. If you haven't picked up this series, you need to. PS: WE NEED A BOOK ABOUT EMERY STAT! I WANT IT NOW!

Second Chances
Things We Never Said is the third book in the Hart's Boardwalk series by Samantha Young. Dahlia McGuire is from Boston; her parents are Cian and Sorcha, he's a firefighter, and she's a nurse. Together they have five children. Darragh, Davina, Dahlia, Dermot, and Dillion. Darragh is a correspondent and sports writer, Davina is an Investment Banker, Dermot is a police officer, and Dahlia is an artist. She comes from a working-class Irish family, so attending college to study art was not her mother's idea of a responsible adult. When Dehlia was twenty years old, she wore a sheer body stocking for an art exhibition to earn money. There is where she met Michael Sullivan, Sully, a 23-year-old rookie cop who called her dahlin; he was a liner Irish rough who was best friends with Gary, her current boyfriend. However, she fell in love with Michael, but the timing was never right. Dahlia left home after her sister Dillion died from complications of an automobile accident, and she couldn't deal with the guilt. Hence, Dahlia started drinking, and things with her mother became unbearable. She moved to Hartwell and rented out her aunt's shop. Nine years later, her father called to tell her that he and her mother were getting divorced after 38 years of marriage.

For English Review pls. see below WOW! Wirklich! Wow! *** WOW! Really! It's hard to find the right words to describe this extraordinary book, that was really impossible to put down. And that was quite unexpected. But let me start by saying that I am a huge fan of Samanthas stories, especially the "On Dublin Street" series and the Hartwell love stories as well, whom I've read in German. While looking for new stories by Samantha I've read "As dust dances" in English and was quite relieved that it was easy to follow for me (as a native German). That's why when this new book of the Hartwell series was announced (that I was awaiting so desperately), and Samantha was clever enough to provide some teasers on her Instagram, I was curious to say the least. Because I found out that this third book would not be about Emery (my expectation), but Dahlia, who we learnt in the second part of the series, was confronted with a ghost from her past. So because there was no German publication in sight, I decided I could not/would not want to wait any longer and bought the English version. I was rewarded with an emotional rollercoaster of feelings, really sympathized with Dahlia and Michael and rooted for them all the time when everything seemed hopeless. SY describes almost a decade of their story by using flashbacks, and oh my, what stroke of fate and adversities were in their way. During the story they got really close to my heart and I was quite sad when the book ended, feeling as having to say goodbye to very dear friends. Of course there will be a reunion with Bailey, Vaughn, Jessica, Cooper, Emery and the inevitable Devlins, that of course are here for some trouble and guarantee for a mean cliffhanger at the end. That's why I am more than curious how long Sam will have us wait for the next book - Emerys Story - hoping it won't be this long again. "Things we never said" was totally worth the wait, my favourite of the series so far and in my option one of her best books yet. I am sure, when the next book is published, I am starting the Hartwell series all over again because I really love this series. I can just highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good love story and review it with 5 well deserved stars.

Erin first got the ARC for The One Real Thing back when was doing the blogging thing on her own a few years ago. She gave me it immediately when she finished because she knew I’d love it and I fell IN LOVE! There’s just something about Hartwell and the people that live there that calls to me. I love it. I loved Every Little Thing even more, the enemies to lovers angst of Vaughn and Bailey was everything I love in a book. I recently re-read The Things We Never Said before The Truest Thing comes out in 3 days and I fell in love with this book and these characters all over again. Dahlia Maguire is the local silversmith who owns the gift shop in Hartwell. While she loves her live in Hartwell she’s definitely hiding, from her family, her past and the love of her life Michael Sullivan. When her father needs her she heads back to her native Boston and is forced to face the demons that kept her hiding out in Hartwell for so long. The angst had me hooked on this book. There were a few flashbacks in this book which usually I’m not a big fan of but they were short, relevant and gave you much needed insight into the plot. The ending was perfect and it was a perfect set up for book 4.

(ARC provided by author) 4.5/5⭐️ This book was highly anticipated on my end, and I’m so glad to jump back into Hart’s Boardwalk series. Dahlia has always been a mystery for me and I’m happy we find out her story. This book was heartbreaking, steamy and an overall an emotional rollercoaster, I could not put it down in the early hours of the morning. I was so hooked from the start. I found Dahlia’s and Michael’s background had so much depth and tension between everyone involved, it was a very dramatic web of connections and l enjoyed it. Definitely looking forward to the continuation of this series, and hoping in the future to get Emery’s story. ❤️
