Cal-Flor CF41665 Color-Matched Repair Putty, Deep Chocolate

I am an avid DYIYer, so I can confidently tell you that this product is irredeemably flawed and not worth even close to $11! They basically took caulking and mixed it with black nail polish. It is horribly sticky and tar like, not even remotely like real wood putty, and it dries with a high gloss black. This means that the product is goopy and sticky to smoosh into the crack and clings to the putty knife and goes everywhere. When you try in a few minutes to scrape off the excess mess, far too much peels out in a continuous piece,like caulk. Worst of all, when you eventually negotiate it into the crack without a mess, it dries glossy like nail polish, drawing far more attention to the gap than if you left it bare. Tell me, have you ever seen a high gloss black laminate floor....me neither?! Almost all laminate flooring is demi gloss, so high sheen black caulk looks awful as a repair, nevermind how goopy and sticky it goes in. This product literally does nothing right. Don't waste your money....get some wood putty and cover it with demi gloss black paint...yes, 2 steps sucks, but it is far better than this trash one step lie. So mad I wasted $11 and 45 minutes of my life I'll never get back on this junk.

I read the negative reviews, but gave this product a shot. An errant bowel, not stowed, came off the counter in my RV and gouged my Pergo floor shattering into a million pieces. I found this product, read the reviews and was hesitant. The putty is like bondo with too much hardner. It skins as its coming out of the tube, you need to be ready. The thing is, there has was to be something for it to adhere, the damage needs to have gone through the finish. Experiment, you cannot really ruin anything as excess putty peels off of the laminate finish.

I had an issue with this particular product not working well enough for my needs. I contacted their customer service folks and I can honestly report that these guys are really dedicated to ensuring that their customers are very promptly taken care of when the need arises. This type of effort on behalf of their customers is not readily found in today's world; therefore, I wanted to make sure that my story is documented here so that they get all the credit that they most certainly deserve! I was hesitant to buy this based a few ratings but it is great. I ordered gray, and it is. Very easy to use and drys quickly and hard. A drawback is the small tube, I got about 15' at approx. 1/4" wide.

The Amazon description for this product is wrong. It says it's good for tile, but according the the tube's label it is only good for wood and laminate. Tried to return it. Amazon says it doesn't accept returns of the product. I have contacted Amazon Customer Service to request a refund anyway.

Color was perfect and easy to work with

The product appeared to far exceed its shelf life. the putty was very stiff and dry and I was not able to successfully insert it into the space between laminate floor planking for which I purchased the putty for.

Thought this would be good to patch small area where grout was cracked. Unfortunately it only lasted for about a week and started to crack and come out of crack I tried to fill.
