Great Stuff... better to get in this smaller 4oz bottle.
I'm a professional equestrian outfitter and I used to purchase this in the jug size from a wholesale vendor thinking I was saving money. I've discovered this tiny size is much better because, firstly, it comes with it's own dauber attached to the lid. (Sure, you can buy daubers, but you needed several to get through a jug as they wear out before you finish it. Also, not being able to store the dauber inside the jug makes for a messy storage proposition and they dry out, necessitating a new dauber!) And secondly, the dressing in the bottom of the jug would always get thick and unusable before I finished it and would have to be thrown out anyway. So, I'm so happy I found this here! As for how the product works... it works great *if you use it for what it is intended for*. It is, just what it says, edge dressing for soles and heels of boots. It is also good for any heavy duty black leather that has suffered a severe color loss or stain in a small area. And by heavy duty, I mean like a black girth or a saddle that's suffered a scratch you need to fill in. It is NOT for soft leathers, Italian leathers, shoe leathers, soft folding (wallet) leather, etc. It will, as some have complained in earlier reviews, crack and flake if used in that manner. Note it is not a conditioner and it is not a shoe polish. Think of it as a PAINT. It is for stiff, stable leather only that isn't subject to a lot of flexibility. Really and truly it's for the sole edges and heels of dress (military or equestrian) boots. If you use it for that purpose only, you will be very happy. It has the best color penetration and retention and "scar repair" of any leather-coloring product I have tried.

Shine
This stuff is great. If you're like me and still wear—and shine—a good pair of black leather boots, this is the go-to for your sole dressing. It’s a little messy, but that’s the nature of the beast. The payoff is worth it: rich, deep black shine that makes your boots look sharp and well-kept. Solid product for those who still take pride in polished leather.

A little TOO good
I was not expecting this to work this well. My expectation was that it would marginally better than the Kiwi product. No. This is exactly what you want for a military or business-to-formal need. This is the product I wish I had in the Army all those years ago. Tried extending the life of these Vans. Like I said… When you love too much. :D.

Good adhesion and shine
Fifty years ago I was applying this to my shoes in the Marine Corps. I think this edge dressing is better, and it keeps the shine.
