![Lover [VINYL]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61QZuLsO5ML.jpg)

Seventh studio album by the American singer, featuring the singles 'Me!', 'You Need to Calm Down' and title track 'Lover'. The album features guest performances from the Dixie Chicks and Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco. Review: Taylor in Pink and Blue - This was the first Taylor Swift album I bought. After seeing how her concerts were being sold out and how Taylor Swift gave so much money to charities throughout her tour, I thought maybe I could show my appreciation by buying one of her albums. I am so glad I did, wow, what a talent. Honestly, I can't find one bad track on the two LPs. One pink album and one light blue one full of great music. It makes a change to buy an album that is so good. I was so impressed I have bought a few of Taylor's albums on vinyl. Each one great in its own way. Review: A great album and a quality product - First, I would like to mention that here on desertcart we have two versions of this album listed (this one, and a second version which is marked as "colored, import"). This is also colored (first disk is pink, the second is blue), just not import - as you can see on the forgive-me-but-taken-with-a-phone photo :). I am really happy with this album. Even though I recently do not focus on mainstream pop, I really should. A relaxing and nice listen, hope to see much more of these. However, as this is the vinyl edition, I should mention the physical product instead of just the music. For the music, you can listen on Spotify or desertcart Music, but when you want purchase the physical version of your favorite album, you should decide if you want to buy the CD or vinyl version. And, if you decide not to buy both, then I would recommend this vinyl version with a warm heart. The packaging has a strudy outer sleeve, good to hold in hand, it doesn't collapse under its own weight. Has a few nice pictures on it (both on the inner part of the cover and one also on the inner sleeves). And even though I always replace the factory inner sleeves with an antistatic one of my own, I still really appreciate the lyrics which is printed with readable black letters and they did not make it "white on pink" just because that would look cuter. The record itself also sounds clean. As it is a colored vinyl, it has some surface noise, but it is so little that you have to especially pay attention to it in order to notice. I have not measured if it's a 180g issue or not, but even if it's not 180, it sill feels pretty heavy, which is good. So.. nice album, looks nice, feels nice and sounds nice. I wish all new releases would be at least this good. Would recommend anytime.

TS: Lov' her
I do not consider myself to be a TS fan. Or perhaps I cannot just yet bring myself to admit it. I was indifferent towards the sugary "Fearless" and "Speak now" eras with those big singles and videos of teenage heartbreak and daydreaming. I am a pop music aficionado but I prefer more alternative, adventurous, and venomous stuff to entertain me. It was "Red"'s sophistication, and "1989"'s full blown pop sensibilities that triggered my curiosity and made me start paying some attention to this next door American girl whose guitar strings were covered in tears apparently. Have to admit that the transition from the humble country beginnings to popstardom was impressive. It only took one single to get me properly hooked, and all that masterly executed snake fascination of the last era was indeed pretty sensational. Just like the songs themselves. I was ready for it! Thus, I am now the proud owner of 3 VIP Reputation Tour boxes, the coloured vinyl limited editions of her 6 albums released last year, and currently trying to complete my collection of those lovely extended Japanese CD sets. Which brings us to this new set, her first following her big departure from Big Machine and the unfortunate legal feud about the copyright ownership of her catalogue. Already 13 years into her career, and closing on her twenties, this millennium's most popular and successful pop princess appears to be trying to bring together all Taylor Swift albums for her 7th set. Packed with the usual tiny details and hints that only a true Swiftie would be able to understand, and through a different perspective after the anger of previous record, "Lover" is naturally all about love and romance. But, going one step further this time around, the themes of self love, familial love and friendship also provide inspiration for 1/3 of the set's 18 tracks. Lyrically she remains a small town teenager at heart; musically, she is still keen on trying out new genres and styles. Given her undeniably relatable songwriting skills, singling out tracks would be unfair but there are 4 tracks that I would easily place among her very best to date, each for different reasons: "The archer", "Miss Americana & the heartbreak prince", "Soon you'll get better", and "Daylight". Released in numerous editions, featuring 100+ pages of diaries entries altogether, amidst a pastel haze of butterflies, stars, blue skies and rainbows, "Lover" is personal and universal, serious and lightweight, important and anodyne, empowering and vulnerable. And, without being a perfect record, it is actually the most perfect record for Taylor at this point. She now has guitar string scars, and I cannot but love her.

Great album - just buy it
Lover is a great album from Taylor. Whenever Alexa/itunes/spotify/etc throw it on it just gets a big grin and a full listen, usually repeated. Everything flows nicely and the tracks balance well. It's not as loud/punchy as Reputation, and is more mature and polished than 1989. The evolution is excellent and her songwriting continues to flourish. If you didn't like Reputation but liked 1989 you'll like this. If you did like Reputation you'll still like this - or love it even. It oscillates between upbeat and relaxed from the joyous bounce of the opening track through the more chilled Cornelia Street to London Boy (a good track but you wonder how much of real London she actually got to experience) ending in the wonderful Daylight that is a great end of the night wind-down. (It also helps calm scared fliers, but that's a story for another time). Some of the tracks hark back to her country beginnings with the Dixie Chicks joining Taylor for the emotive, and excellent, Soon You'll Get Better. On the fence? Just buy it.

This is an outstanding CD and I love every song on it! I didn't buy it when it was released YEARS ago, as I stopped listening to Taylor after her second album was more pop than country. However, as my musical tastes have diversified over the years, I've realized that Swift is a mastermind and able to write fabulous lyrics that span a variety of genres. Aaaand I just happen to like them all. LOVER quickly became one of my favorite CDs because it makes me feel all of the emotions, and I sing along to every song on here. I discovered this one late in the game, but I'm here for it for the long-term. Absolutely adore the LOVER CD! (I'm also very grateful that she still produces her music in this format, because I actually have CD players in all of my vehicles and I have several boomboxes for my CD collection as well.)
