Bravo novel

I had read one of the two novels (Tracks) but hearing Anna Fields's interpretation truly brought it to life for me. She was excellent for the other novel also. I highly recommend this Audible.

This is the first audio book I have tried and wow, I'm impressed! The reader, Anna Fields, brilliantly portrays all of the voices in the story. I am a fan of Louise Erdrich's writing, and I'm glad to report that Ms Fields does Ms Erdrichs' beautiful prose and her multi-faceted characters complete justice. She is especially good at portraying the distinctive Native American voices, with their subtle wisdom and wry humor. Both Erdrich and Fields are gifted storytellers, and together they create a memorable experience for the listener.

Two of Erdrich's best novels, but the sequel is before the original book! Chronologically, the book "Four Souls" picks up the moment "Tracks" ends, but instead, whoever organized this audio pairing has placed the sequel first, and then the original book. If you elect to buy this audiobook (which I highly recommend), start listening at Chapter 7, listen through Chapter 13, and then go back to Chapter 1 and listen through Chapter 6. Or, better yet, Amazon, put the books in the right order!
