The Princess and the Foal Review: 💞💞💞 - Love ❤️ of reading Review: Sweet story, even if you know nothing about horses - I read before giving to the horse loving 8 year old and it was really a nice read! There are some awful books out there in this 'horse girl's genre but this one seems to have an actual writer behind it, not a collection of cliches and tired tropes tied together with predictive text. No catty rich girls, no frenemies, it's a girl who loves her dad and her brother and her horse, and ends up exceeding everyone s expectations for what she could do. It was a bit advanced for said 8 year old, so we ended up reading aloud together to get through it more quickly (she was anxious to know what happened). Honestly the horse details went over my head but you don't need to understand them to enjoy it .

Some sadness, but otherwise appropriate for kids of all ages
I'm careful about what my kids read so I had to read it myself before my kids read it. It's a great book with nothing really objectionable. Haya is somewhat disobedient to her new nanny, but her father punishes her when appropriate. The backstory of the mother dying is of course very sad, and Haya has a few tragic moments of deep sadness, but the sadness does not pervade the entire story. If your child is very sensitive you may have them wait till they're older, but I'm letting my 6yo read it.

Great, triumphant story!
I love this book! I like Princess Haya because she is really brave. It is a sad AND happy story. I would recommend this book. Read it, read it, read it! Written by my 9-yr-old daughter.

I became the young girl I once was reading this classic tale
Occasionally, it is good to look at things through the eyes of a youngster. This is an inspiring story for the young and the young at heart. Based on actual happenings, this tale took me from giggles to tears.

It was really good. I really liked the story about her horse ...
It was really good. I really liked the story about her horse and their relationship. I love to ride horses and she gets to ride all the time.
