Comfortable
I injured my pinky and the first phalanx was drooping, so I’d been wearing a basic Velcro brace. It was super uncomfortable and kept moving around, so I decided to try this one. Huge difference. It’s really comfortable, stays in place, and I can use my keyboard with no problem. It supports my finger without putting any pressure on it. I’m using size #1 and it fits perfectly.

Perfect splint for anyone with a Mallet finger (avoid figure 8 splint!!)
This is the 2nd time I have experienced this injury (2nd time being more severe with the fracture). The splint provided by my doctor was a similar style, but was harder plastic & did not have the split top that this one has, so there was a slight gap between my finger and the splint. Features I love about this splint (there are a lot): protects the finger and keeps the top joint immobilized, has a split top so as the swelling in the finger changes you can adjust and keep the fit snug, the Velcro removes the need to have sports tape around, the material of the plastic decreases the "gym foot" smell that can occur with a splint, it is less noticeable in day-to-day activities - both from my perspective and to others (don't have to constantly answer what happened to your finger), and finally there are two in the package so you can rotate to clean and not be without splint at any time. Another option I have seen recommended for a mallet finger is the "figure 8" type splint; there is simply no way this splint could provide the protection you need with a mallet fracture. You would be shocked at the amount of times you bump your finger on things throughout the day & the figure 8 splint will not protect your healing finger from these encounters. This may actually be the first Amazon review I have written, but I am so pleased with this product that I felt the need to let others know how tremendous it can be in the healing process. A mallet finger can take anywhere from 4-8 weeks to heal, depending on the severity, so you really want to have a splint you are comfortable with and I give the Thinvik splint my 100% seal of approval.

Support for mallet finger supports
The finger supports fit well and worked perfectly. There is a velcro closure, so it was not necessary to have to mess around with tape and tape residue. The seam at the top of the finger support was sometimes a bit irritating, but on the whole, they worked well, and I will be ordering more.

Needs better Velcro
It serves the purpose for a mallet finger but if you get it wet the Velcro looses grip. I’m supposed to wear it 24/7

Better than what my doctor gave me
Nice product. Easy to put on by yourself. Wide enough for comfort. The slit down the middle is helpful for comfort.

Fits perfectly great spint
I tore my pinky ligament and went to see about 4 doctors because my finger tip was drooping and would not go back up after having a tub of yogurt fall on my finger. They took x-rays and I was told i had Mallet finger. They sent me to a physical therapist office to cast my finger. I was told not to buy a splint that they were going to put a professional cast/splint on my finger. The lady took a piece of plastic board cut it warmed it up to slightly melt to fit my finger then put tape on it. It didn’t look professionally done at all, it did not fit my finger properly and it look like my 6 year old granddaughter could have made it for me and it was very uncomfortable. With that said i left it on for 4 weeks and it felt like my finger was getting worst. I had no pain with the initial accident but weeks later i was feeling alot of pain, i finally went online did some research and found this little finger splint and immediately putting it on I was in complete comfort. It came in 3 sizes but one of them fit my finger so perfectly as if it was made for me. I have really thin fingers, i wear a size 4 on my ring finger which is pretty small so my pinky is probably a 2 or 3 Its my first time wearing it but so far so good thank you i love it. The doctors were a waste of time and money!! Their in the business of making money not healing. Im pretty sure they did a crummy job so that i can come back for physical therapy. Urgent care had me go to the hospital for X-rays ,then they had me go to another doctor to look at the x-rays, then they had another doctor put the crummy splint i wasn’t sure why one doctor couldn’t do everything in one facility i was billed 4 $40 copays completely ridiculous never again. Lesson learned

it fixed my finger!
Last year visiting my family up in Philadelphia I tore a ligament in my finger playing catch with a football with my brother. My brother who had the same injury playing softball diagnosed it right on the spot. I went right to CVS bought a splint to hold me over to seeing a hand specialist back in South FL a week later. I get a referral from my primary care doctor on a hand specialist that was on my insurance. I google him for reviews and people seemed to like him and he got good reviews. I go to him and he X-ray'd it and sure enough just as my brother said that's what happened. He gave me a splint (No. 2 picture) to wear for 6 weeks (it eventually became 11 weeks cause of traveling back and forth up to Philly and back). My brother always thought it was weird it didn't have a bottom board, it only had a top one. When it was time to take it off (after the stiffness came back to normal) it still dipped down! Not as bad as before, but my brother and sister in law were both like "why isn't that still in a splint?" next time I visited and showed them. The doctor said it was done healing and that's the best it'd do. They both thought I should still be in a splint, so I came to Amazon to find it and eventually found this one. I was highly skeptical anything would get better since the "hand specialist" said it was done healing. But then I read one review where he said he waited like 6 months or something which totally contradicted what my doctor told me. So I decided to give this one a shot. So glad I did, cause it fixed my finger! I wore it another 6 weeks and was stiff when I took it off. I wasn't sure if it was as straight as it could be, so I wore it another 5 weeks. In retrospect, I don't think I needed to do that but I did. The splint was great. You can wear it in the shower, let it get wet and it'll dry right off. My only gripe about it is I felt the Velcro could have been stronger cause that faded over time. I bought a second one toward the end of my weeks cause it worn out. Overall I'm super glad I found this splint and that one review that gave me hope. My "doctor" obviously didn't know what to do here with this injury. If you're in the same position, don't hesitate and buy it now!
