I have a very old truck. I hardly ever drive it and it has an alarm (which I really should just disconnect!). Long story short-- this truck drains and destroys batteries. I'm not sure if it is ONLY the alarm, or if there is a short or drain somewhere else. The point is, I came out to a dead battery AGAIN! For some reason, I thought re-conditioning old car batteries was a scam, but I figured, if it doesn't do what it claims (recharge and re-condition a car battery) then I'd just return it. The price was less than a new battery!After reading the very simple instructions, I plugged it in and charged the battery. So far so good. Next, per the manual, I ran the re-conditioning cycle. I was still skeptical, but I hooked the battery back up and (after the alarm jump-scared the wits out of me), started it up. It was perfect. I tried again-- perfect. The battery performed as if it was new again. And it stayed in great shape until I neglected the battery to death again a couple months later.Now bear in mind, this battery wasn't terribly old (maybe 2 years?) so I can't speak to VERY old batteries. But I have now resurrected the same battery (Just a basic AAA replacement battery) from completely dead to working like new at least 5 times. I didn't know that was possible. I'm a jackass for continuing to neglect the battery and letting it drain out, but this product resets it back to perfect every time. I'm writing this review after almost 9 months of use. This should be in everyone's garage.

Very nice, compact charger to restore or recharge an automotive size battery. I came back from a trip to find my car completely dead and all I had was an old 1.5A charger. I heard good things about this Genius charger and ordered. I charged my battery up for the most part of a day and it worked great! The clips are of excellent quality and can be disconnected for alternative components like a ferrule-based setup. The Charger is also small - it's perhaps 4X the size of a modern cell phone in terms of thickness and maybe 1/4 again as long. There are 4 lights indicating a charge level - the level it's working on "pulses" slowly until it's done and then it's solid and the next level pulses. Easy to understand.Great charger with quality components - definitely recommended!

My son’s Mazda sat in the garage all winter with a stone-dead battery—interior lights wouldn’t even flicker. I hooked up the NOCO Genius1 smart charger/maintainer and let it do its thing. The progress LEDs made it easy to see which stage it was in, and after about 24 hours the charger showed green. Two starts later the car fired right up, and three weeks on the battery is still cranking strong without ever reconnecting the charger.Setup couldn’t be simpler: clamp on, plug in, and forget it. The unit runs cool and the spark-proof design is reassuring. The only tiny nitpick is that the alligator-clip leads are on the short side if your outlet’s far from the engine bay, but an extension cord solves that.If you need to revive and then maintain a battery that’s been sitting for months, this little charger works exactly as advertised. Highly recommended.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I chose this charger because it has the feature to do both kinds of batteries and it has a "wake" function for completely dead batteries. It rocked. Charged a regular battery that sat for 2 years through cold winters in Maine and is working on a lithium battery that drained completely from not disconnecting it from our camper having parasitic drain that the solar panel couldn't keep up with. Do note to follow the instructions for dead lithium. You have to hold down the button for 5 seconds, not 3 not 4, but 5.

his product works well as long as you find the instruction manual online. The buttons are simple but its not intuitive what everything does and means. It had no problem charging a very dead battery.

Personally, I underestimated the utility of the Noco chargers!Commercial grade quality in a small form factor. Very robust and easy to use. Comes with a mountable strap to make it much easier to store. Fast charging, this is where the differences exist in the modes, and after hours of research I found the 10 perfect for me. Make sure the model you choose has the features you want and the main variables is the charging speed.The Noco Genius 10 will indicate if your battery is bad, my M18 Milwaukee batteries that wouldn't charge from charger were brought back to life, and the trickle charging feature brings much more value than you would imagine.To be completely honest.. I recommend the Noco Genius 2 as it has all of the same features yet it charges much slower.

Great battery charger and maintainer! 12 volt supply works great for diagnosing and attempting to charge completely drained batteries, make sure to switch back to a normal charging mode after the battery starts to hold voltage. I made the mistake of not securing the charger to my tractor and my flail hammer mower ate it, however that is completely my bad I should have secured it on my tractor or taken it off live and learn.

Car went from yellow warning light to red light, started driving to mechanic. Slowly each electrical component failed until no more battery power left and required towing.Took battery home to charge, old trickle charger was not strong enough overnight.Ordered and received Nico genius 10.After 4 hours battery was charged, but left connected for alternative battery charging routines.
