How frequently do you have to inflate this cushion? It would be used by my mother who weighs 110 pouinds.

Not much. My mother doesn't sit in this chair much so i use it while keeping her company and I'm 215lbs and haven't found the need to refill it yet. Holds air good.

Is this pump the same as the m.a.d. pump?

I do not know if it is the same as the m a d pump but this one worked great!!
